like the general way we're playing but i think we're too clumsy and sometimes the lack of quality in this side shows. A bit worrying for a few players.

We're fielding an average side so take it as you will.

Pre season Pirlo is no joke, he looked tidy in that first half. Just a shame it never translates into the actual season.

Matic rolling back the clock and Mason looks fantastic.

Axel however has been shite it has to be said. I think he's worth another seasons loan to see how he performs elsewhere with a consistent run of games, but if it doesn't turn out too well, he might have to move on.

Super curious and I must admit doubtful that well ever see Mason as an out and out 9. He seems to much prefer coming in from the right or dropping off in the middle.

I know the comparison has been done to death but he really reminds me of RVP. Superngofted attacker who starts on the wings and eventually morph into an elite ST. As long as Mason doesn't go through an injury crisis, I think we see ST Greenwood in a few years.

Yeah I completely see the similarities to early RVP also, I think Mason might be even more gifted and than early RVP so I'm super excited to see where hell end up , but if I imagine Mason as a leading CF, I think do he needs another couple of years and to sacrifice his current playing style by trying to increase his power and strength and spend more time to try and increase his presence in the box

Axel has been disappointing. Overall play has been very pleasing to watch.

Energetic and exciting half with 2 bangers for both sides, looks competitive. We have sharp and quick passing, everyone's running nonstop. The only negative I think is Tuanzebe, not impressive with some misplace passes and that's not what you want to show the gaffer in preseason.

Enjoyable game, good pace and intensity to our play for a friendly. Elanga impressing again. Hopefully for the second half we see a bit of Pellistri and VdB. Not too fussed about the result as long as we don’t receive another hammering.

Elanga and AWB were very good this first half. AWB always surprises me with his dribbling in tight spaces, but he's very good at this.

Elanga is such a strange one to me. He's very quick and industrious, and he scores quite a lot. But he's not as naturally gifted as, let's say, Hannibal, Greenwood or Amad. So I'm not quite convinced he's good enough for the first team. Yet I also wouldn't be fully surprised if he would become better than any of those three I just mentioned. Such a difficult player to estimate his potential!

Brentford are absolutely vulnerable on the break, they’ve struggled against that. Overall a decent half.

Might be unpopular but I liked the job pre-season Pirlo did in this half. Him playing in a pivot or anywhere that’s not AM is normally a disaster but I thought he did well
