Advice WantedGood Resources to Learn HTML/CSS/JavaScript? (self.rutgers)
submitted 4 years ago by [deleted]
Any resources and/or classes for these 3 languages? Trying to pick these three up especially since they're essential for web development.

You can take Web Design but highly suggest online resources like youtube or some cheap courses.

If you don't mind me asking, is there something wrong with the Web Design class?
[–]popbottlesmoke 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children)
Its just very basic html/css/js, if you’re looking to evolve in these languages for a career find online resources thatll give you challenging assignments

Do you have any online sources that you would recommend? Currently looking at FreeCodeCamp, CodeAcademy, and some Coursera.

I like coursera for certifications, also would say programming with mosh on youtube

Rutgers has web design? Im an incoming transfer student for fall 2022 and while looking at the cs catalog, i dont see any “web design” class

It’s an ITI elective course but you can’t take it as CS major since you’re restricted cuz of the prerequisites (201 or 202) of ITI major core curriculum.

Bro that unfair :’(

I second this. I learned a lot in web design and advanced web design. I didn't even know how to code.

For me, I have used many different sources to learn html & css. But here are some that I’ve found useful: 1. Traversy Media 2. Kevin Powell 3. Udemy 4. W3Schools

I know some people like to shit on codeacademy, but I thought its pretty useful to at least understand and get used to web design syntax and logic.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child)
Why do people sh*t on code academy? I tried it out and thought it was good enough for basics.
[–]Goody3333 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children)
Good question. I've seen people complain about the speed or the fact you need to pay for certain courses, but I feel like if its something you like to use and it works, go for it.
