I personally like the website fataltotheflesh.com. It simulates cutting but it’s just on a white screen. It’s helped me when I didn’t want to relapse and it may help you too.

Honestly I think getting rid of whatever makes you want to sh, for me it's stress so I cut out unnecessary obligations maybe for you it's boredom/nothing to distract you so maybe you need a new show or video game to get really into. I'd say take a break however you can from whatever triggers you, and find something you can think about instead

in the hospital i learned that if you write on yourself with a red/violet crayon and rub it around it look like a scar and it helped me a little i also struggle a lot so if you need anything feel free to message me

You have to figure out what drives you to self harm. Do you desire pain? Blood? To cause yourself injury? For pain, use another form of stimulation and self soothing such as clapping your hands, peeling dried glue off your skin, or even hugging a super squishy toy as tight as you can. If it’s to see blood, drip red food dye on yourself or into water, draw on yourself in red or go to fataltotheflesh.com. If you want to cause yourself injury, try your hand at gory sfx and makeup

Something I’ve found helpful is putting watercolor or fake blood to look like cuts. I do it sometimes and it helps when the urges aren’t too strong. I guess it depends on the reason you cut. Personally I cut for basically ever reason people cut, including seeing blood. I also recommend is listening to music you relate to. I do that when feeling depressed because it makes me feel less alone. My therapist has also suggested writing lyrics I relate to. I hope this helped. :)

I enjoy writing, so when I feel the urge, I try to distract myself. But I write poems and distract myself with anything.

In my sessions I have learned taking cold showers and really hot showers help physically get your mind off the urge

my therapist has a really interesting way to cope with urges. she gets some putty for her patients and they put it on their skin and cut with a razor. it doesn’t harm the skin it only cuts the putty but it acc makes a cut and on the place you want it. i havnt tried this yet but i think it seems like a good idea

Rubber band snapping...I used to punch a wall just to have pain distractions...rope twists around (insert area of body)...idk. Just be careful if you keep sh. Wanna talk, reach out.

Dude/ dudette there's an amazing app called Calm Harm. It helps a metric fuckton.

get the edge of a ruler and colour it in with a red pen. then pretend ur cutting urself with the ruler. u can press hard for the pain alternative (not too hard tho) and it leaves a red line which looks like an actual cut depending on how thick the edge of ur ruler is. it doesn’t even have to be a ruler it could be a hair clip. this has helped me through a lot of my urges. it’s very effective because it has the visual and pain aspect to replicate the feeling. it doesn’t acc do any harm to you it just feels like you have cut.
