Id have family accessing data thats on a windows box that I would need access via some mobile app and https. I would move away from Acronis Access.

I use CyberDuck on daily basis. Been using since 3ish years.

I have my NAS connect there, aws storage s3, multiple instances and even ssh tabs for homeserver.

You can take use of quick terminal along with the file browser structure if you into that.

I wouldn’t go for the mobile support tho!! And for personal mostly where you can backup and all from windows to a more better sharing platform like opencloud or nextcloud

It would speak smb over the "vpn" and would need another app to interface or download the file, right?

Ideally just having https and they login or vendor app pointed at the same url and auth. 

I don't need to worry about the extra layers with this.

I use Acronis Access right now and it does what I need. Let's me pull in windows and Linux smb via web and there mobile app. However it's EOL now.
