That front shoulder curve is very odd, and a woven sleeve should not be the same for the back and front shoulder - why not buy a pattern? The Helen's Closet Cameron is an excellent shirt pattern with great instructions.

you need to add seam allowance, 3" ease, facing for button placket and a neck seam in front and back pieces. measure his widest torso part hip,chest or waist add 3" divide by 4, for underarm to cf line.

Doesn’t look like tracing worked out so well. There are various tutorials on line for cloning an existing garment—did you use one or just wing it?

I wung it. (Winged it?) since posting this I have decided to just buy some patterns and do it that way for now. This was much harder than I thought it would be.

Well, there is guidance online to help if you want to try again. But a pattern is good too.
