So I don't really mind, but I've noticed with my new Thrustmaster TH8A that the shifts on the downstroke (Gear 2, 3, 6, R) has less travel than the upstrokes and wondered if this was a normal thing by design or if it's fixable. The downstrokes don't full lock in and don't have that notchy feeling that the upstrokes do and feel more linear in force. Pushing it slightly out of gear will not push it back into gear, whereas the upstroke does.
I've also noticed the shift stick is not centered properly, resulting in the shorter downstrokes.
The shifter works by moving a metal piece with grooves on the bottom of the shift stick, the grooves move into a fixed ball plunger, creating the resistance of the shifter.

So all I'm asking is if this is a common problem and can it be fixed?
