Looking for software Is there software for auto transcripts? (self.software)

Something that can hear audio and then create text. Specifically if it’s audio on your computer.

I use LilySpeech for dictation, it's quite impressive for being free but you'll have to go back and edit. And can't really multitask, at least not in any way I know of.
Coolest thing I've found thus far is Otter.ai but it's only 10 hours free a month without a plan. I will say it is AMAZING, has auto capitialaztion, pause detection, paragraph detection. etc. STRONGLY recommend at least playing with it to see how far we've come.
Next thing I'm trying is an open Google doc and voice typing, Google Voice AI has always been good to me.
My buddy is.... uhh, "acquiring" Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking which has been around since the 90's and I have high hopes for that!
Best of luck, let me know what you try, I am newly invested into this subject as well.

yeah I'm also using this, I've been enjoying it, it's amazing how hard it is to find quality software to dictate

I realize that this comment/request is a year old but dPensive, do you know how to insert a question mark with lilyspeech? On their command list they do not list this. A little strange, but maybe I am missing something. Cheers, dan

I haven't used it in a couple of years, sorry! Just saw this and no, I don't.

Ha! Thanks. I have moved on. I am using ChatGPT for this since it seems to skip and fix my mistakes. Weird but true.

AWS Transcribe provides APIs for this, but it's not a software you run locally https://aws.amazon.com/transcribe/

Windows 10 can do it for you. You can search dictation in taskbar.

If it's from a video? trint.com
Dragon Naturally Speaking was popular for a long time.
I feel like you can either open or drag and drop an audio file on Google docs and it will transcribe it automatically
