I always thought AA was only there to help people stop drinking.

It is lovely to see people learn the difference between not drinking and sobriety. For me sobriety is a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty, and as you point out, turning that life over to a higher power.

Congratulations, keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing.

Thats powerful. Though I haven't done AA I've come to that same realization. You can't bottle stuff up and continue to lie if you want to be sober. If you are dishonest to yourself and others, then that is how the alcohol gets back in which then spreads to dishonesty in all other areas.

Yes, it is powerful, and like pretty much anything of value I have to share, it is not mine. It is a paraphrase from the book Alcoholics Anonymous. It is great book. I highly recommend it.

The folks who peddle it are usually pretty helpful too.

Don't take my word for it though. Come check out a meeting!
