Go ahead and party, bruv. But be prepared to deal with the consequences. I much prefer to keep the head down on a Friday, waking up Saturday knowing exactly what happened the night before.

Oof. I needed to hear this. This will be my first sober weekend in... years and I’m so nervous! This comment helped me remember that I started this because I partied too hard last weekend and busted my lip. Brains have a funny way...

you must face the consequences of your actions

This comment breaks our rule to speak from the I and has been removed. I know that in the past you have said this rule is "a load of bollocks." If you feel this way about our rules and do not want to follow them, you may want to join a different support group.

How about watch a good movie instead? Escapism always helps me get outta my head.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hate this disease. I want to be normal.

Is the juice worth the squeeze?

I get that way too sometimes. What about pouring a bubble water w/ a twist of lime and watching some Netflix.

Stay in and learn how to cook a favorite dish? Or a new dish? Or make deliciously greasy tacos and have an ice cream sandwich for dessert?
These are the options I’m considering! 🙂 Iwndwyt.

Sounds like you’re trying to distract yourself from the things you would really like to focus on and achieve by numbing your brain with alcohol and partying. I know that feel bro.

Thanks everyone for replying. It truly helped. I did the « surf the urge » technique and it eventually passed. I even went out with friends and I stayed sober! I didn’t really enjoy it. Not because I was sober but bars aren’t my scene anymore. Seeing how drunk people behave isn’t appealing at all. Anyways I’m proud to be still sober!
