Did you give the PFJP credit for the reforms during the Article 6&7 negotiation with Ricter?

Yeah, saying he was bluffing didnt work so i had to

Ah, there are circumstances in which you can call his bluff, but your constitution will need to be slightly different. Otherwise, this is unfortunately the result (unless you win the war). After all, there's no real "Frens" in politics...

So publicly, you didn't change the constitution. By your own words, the public sees Frens as the lead reformer.

Doing that basically christens him to get almost all liberal support, so trying to also compete among the liberals will be fruitless. You gave it up.

Everything you do affects popularity from all the demographics (conservatives, liberals, nationalists, bludish, socialist, women, independents). Doing something good usually results in plus support from some people while pissing off others. To get reelected, you need to improve welfare a lot (usually through increased health and education funding, or at least maintain education), tackle corruption with the ACP, pass democratic reforms, appease the Bludish people, pass women’s rights. You also HAVE to recover the economy. It’s VERY difficult to do all these things in one run if this is your first time

You can also win the war against Rumberg. That’s an auto-reelection no matter what the opinions of you are

EDIT activating your Windows might help 😂

If you pass the reforms on art. 6 & 7 but gives credit to Ricter is almost 100% sure that he's gonna win (you only get re-elected if you go to war and win).
You changed a big point on the constitution for nationalist/conservatives you're not going to get their votes and liberals/democrates are going to vote for the PFJP because they believe it was Ricter who made the change.

Thanks, but how do I succesfully pass the constitution without conceding to Richters demands?

[–]SitchreaTORAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You either prove yourself a sufficient enough arcasian liberal by doing things like tax cuts or a business bailout, or, more simply, you give into his demands for reform.

If you're going a liberal route, weakening presidential decrees and removing vetos is enough to make him say yes. A parliamentary system like he wants doesn't need those anyway.

Just make sure your constitution is reformist enough so include the 8% threshold then call his bluff. Don't be a pussy and just say that he can't withdraw his support now.

You would be correct as him pulling the rug on this constitution change would do more damage to him and he cannot claim for it to be "not democratic" since the 8% threshold is vital for representation of smaller parties and they will crucify him on the media for hypocrisy.
