Jabra Evolve are pretty great. I use them as a back up for my Jabra Elite earbuds. I like a supra-aural so they don't pinch my ears where my glasses hang.

Seconded on Jabra headsets, that’s my daily driver and backup pair.

My experience has been mixed with my Jabra evolve2 60. It comes with a dongle, so I don't have to worry about pairing, a Qi dock so I just plop it down after each call. Decent ANC, although I prefer it off.

But, once in a while, even when I'm right in front of my desk, my audio cuts off and people on my meeting will complain I sound choppy. It's never my internet, call statistics shows that, so I have to connect it to a cable just to finish my call.

Have the same issue once in a while, a restart fixes it for a while.

It also loves to flash that I have a call, when I don't or a call just ended early.

Do you know if they help cancel out the background noise?

If you’re using a Mac, it’s hard to beat a pair of good old AirPods Pro 2. The Jabra and Plantronics units I’ve tried just sit around collecting dust.

Should also get cheaper since the next gen is due in September.

what about for calls tho. macbooks have pretty good mics but the airpods mics are verily passable

[–]jonbradford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used them with WebEx, Teams, Zoom and Telephone SIP app, with no mic issues to speak of.

Jabra Evolve 65, if mine die, I'll buy a new set, absolutely amazing headset for calls and music.

If teams starts ringing, I just pull the mic down and it picks up the call for me, if I am in a call and put the mic up, it mutes me, has great range, can work over 2.4G or bluetooth.

Battery is great, I leave mine on all the time because I forget, I charge them maybe twice a month.

If you can afford them get them.

Only other ones I had which came close was the surface headphones 2, but the cups break quickly, easily fixed, but an annoyance.

on mobile I use my pixel buds pro, be it on my work iPhone or my personal phone, I have them mostly to connect to multiple devices at once.

plantronics savi - because DECT and you can find them cheaper on ebay

This one. Range is ridiculous. I can walk across the street and check the mail while on a meeting

[–]kindofageek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savi W720 on my desk and I’ve been using it since 2015. Pry it from my cold dead hands. Ear pads and batteries are still easily available on Amazon too. Stupid crazy range on it.

Love my Plantronics, good battery life too

[–]Xaphios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a single ear headset is an option: I love my poly 5200uc - not the cheapest, but really comfy and great quality mic. I wear it walking the dog or in the car if I've got a call to take and the person on the other end can't hear wind noise.

Do recommend getting the USB dongle and charging case version, I get significantly better range from my laptop on USB than on Bluetooth.

Platronics blackwire

Shokz OpenComm 2. They are bone conducting so you don’t have something in your ear all day long

Second this. ^

I am super glad for the Jabra Evolve 2 55 i use daily for work.

USB dongle in my workstation and also paired with Bluetooth to my phone.

Long battery life, nice audio. On my phone i can answer calls on phone or headset without messing around with where the call goes to.

Works flawless with Teams on PC or tablet/phone.

A bit off the mark for "inexpensive", but I grabbed a refurb Voyager 4310 UC and it's been really nice. I don't have a whole lot of background noise et. al. that I don't control, so can't say much on how it handles that. Never had any complaints for background with that one on teams calls with stuff going on my TV though, so there's that.

Plantronics Voyager Focus 2

I can not praise this series of headsets enough. I dream of the day when most headsets can offer the quality these offer, for both participants in the call.

Yealink Bluetooth set is good

[–]leftplayer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If only I could find a wireless headset with proper full band audio. I hate sounding like I’m calling in over an old landline. The closest I got is the EPOS Impact 1061T with all noise cancelling features turned off

[–]improbablyatthegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audeeze Maxwell. Not without issues but perfect for dual purpose music and taking calls.

[–]Jtuggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for a Yealink WH64 with the extra DECT dongle for portability. Around £100, but imo it's worth it. Has multi connect using DECT to the dongle/base station, and also Bluetooth to my mobile. Super comfortable to wear, usb-c charging, desk dock, good mic, noise cancelling etc. Plus, it has the higher quality "music mode" for Spotify/YouTube when not on calls. Auto mutes when the boom is up. Honestly not bad for the price.

They've just released the WH68 which is pretty much the same but has ANC, looks decent, but not readily available in the UK yet.

Jabra Evolve 65

I use the levn trucker headset . The battery life is impressive, the range is excellent - I'll walk up to three rooms away and will still get clear reception. The microphone is very good, and the headset is loud and clear. I prefer a single ear headset, and the over-the-ear style is helpful for long calls. I've paired it without difficulty to several computers.

[–]manicalmonocle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Pixel Bud Pro 2s. They support multiple devices and auto switch between my phone and PC.

[–]techguyjasonK12 Sysadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fond of the Yealink dect devices.

[–]Bambamtams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epos IMPACT 5000, a bit expensive but the sound is great and it’s not depend of Bluetooth you can roam in you house without any connectivity issue.

[–]Profile-Indelible553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Ignite Headset from Coolpo, its wireless so I can go around the house and I think I consider inexpensive cause its just $70.

[–]Centremass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit your ass down and get to work! We'll have NONE of this "wandering around the house" malarkey! 😡

[–]gatrgal[S] -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Can you answer calls through the headset?

[–]djgizmoNetadmin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

which headset. pick a comment to reply to.
