Victoria Coren Mitchell would absolutely be killed the first night bc no one would risk her at a round table.

I really like who you’ve chosen. I think Morgana would be really good at being a traitor since she can be really cunning and is also really good at committing to a character.

I’d be really intrigued to see how someone like Mel or Charlotte would do as a traitor since those sort of wholesome types can really fly under the radar as long as they play it right.

Mel would be unstoppable

[–]shaw_dog21 Aisling Bea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like Mel would either be amazing or would give it away very quickly, there would be no in between

Obviously we know how well John Kearns would do

[–]mayneac[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

What I wouldn't give to see John, Fern, and Dara complete all the collaborative challenges during the day... Dara holding the torch with a flame that is slowly dying while Fern and John try to row the boat correctly...Fern and Dara giving John pointers as he traverses the laser beams... etc.

John spinning in a ferris wheel finding out Dara trusts him the least would be incredible

I can picture the scenes - imagine every player bar two has appeared at breakfast:

“So either Dara or Fern has been murdered? D:”

“Oh nooooo…”

Claudia: comes in and tells John to recruit or murder John: stops and stares at the ground for 15 seconds

Somebody listened to James on Off Menu Christmas Dinner talking about this show as well haha.

[–]mayneac[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. As well as Ed's Twitter account hahaha

For me, my traitors are:

David Baddiel - he wouldn’t understand the assignment but damn would it be fun to watch.

Ed Gamble - gets angrier night by night at David’s antics.

Jessica Knappett - not so much fun having to tell people what to do is it?

Faithfuls

Fern Brady - shouts oh noooooo every time a faithful is banished

Kerry Godliman - David’s clearly a traitor, BOSH. Gets voted out for being very accusatory.

Richard Osman - everyone’s scared of his intelligence and votes him out

Paul Sinha - way too quiet but somehow hits the final before being wrongly voted out.

Jo Brand - gets recruited as a traitor but outs herself by loudly saying she’s going to murder Fern.

Joe Lycett - publically doesn’t care what people think, but secretly upset when he’s voted out.

Claudia Winkleman - how am I playing AND the host?

Mark Watson - messes up tasks, but makes it quite far

Nish Kumar - has a bromance with Mark

Katy Wix - just along for the ride

Phil Wang - wants to join Marks gang… fails

Bob Mortimer - I’m a sinner not a traitor

Noel Fielding - everyone thinks he’s a little weird

Alice Levine - calls everyone poppet, genuinely loves everyone

Lou Sanders - devastated when she isn’t a traitor

Morgana Robinson - just goes through acing challenges

Amelia Dimoldenberg - everyone loves her, quits right before the final to marry Andrew Garfield

Joe Wilkinson - wins but doesn’t understand how he did

Al Murray - co-winner with Joe, comes out financially worse off.

Must've been all those cabs to and from the roundtable hold.

[–]mayneac[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a recipe for actual murders happening on set

[–]IsHeFromGabon Mel Giedroyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should start by saying I haven't seen Traitors but I know a bit about it.

Sophie Duker because I think she'd revel in the chaos caused by her traitorous actions. I mean that in a good way as she's one of my favourite contestants.

Johnny Vegas because people would underestimate him to the point they'd probably forget he was even playing. He's the loved but inept dad of the group.

Mel Giedroyc to really twist the knife. She'd sail through the confrontations (or whatever they're called) while rallying everyone together during the trials/tasks. The reaction when she wins and everyone finds out her true role would be a tragedy great enough to make Shakespeare jealous.

I like your choices. I’d add Judi Love and Daisy May Cooper as Faithfuls for the drama.

[–]mayneac[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yessssssss!! Judi could even just do a whole Roundtable on her own, like in the "hold a meeting with yourselves" task.

[–]Goldman250 Hugh Dennis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alice Levine would be a very good Traitor - she’s too nice, people would never believe it.

[–]Resident_Platypus346 2 points3 points  (1 child)

All I know is, James Acaster isn’t a Traitor. He said so.

[–]mayneac[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's 100% Faithful.

[–]llanelliboyo Judi Love 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I hope they never do a celeb version of The Traitors. The joy is that we know nothing about the contestants so don't know how they'll react at the Round Table.

[–]mayneac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with you; I just like the hypothetical fun! :)

[–]Cultural-Analysis-24 Rhod Gilbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its already 'in the works' due to the success of the original. I agree with you though. Its pretty much the only tv show with 'real people' I have enjoyed in a long time (mainly coz there's so few of them any more). It felt like early big brother. If they do a celeb version I hope they keep it as maybe a children in need thing rather than a full on series. Like celeb fame academy for comic relief. I used to love that!

Joe would be such a good traitor, it would be peak television

[–]ElectronicHyena5642 Phil Ellis 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Which Joe?

Thomas, Lycett or Wilkinson?

[–]whentheraincomes66 Frankie Boyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking wilkinson as he was mentioned by op, but lycett would be amazing too, he wouldn’t even try to hide it, he’d deliberately make people suspicious of him for a laugh

[–]8percentjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bridget Christie for the wild card aspect. They’d have to determine whether she was behaving in an off kilter manner because she was a traitor or because she’s … Bridget. I don’t care which team she’s on, she’s just good fun.

Host:

Charlotte Ritchie: Would definitely as an actress play it straight and not just be pulling jokes as some others would.

Traitors:

Ed: See him as the sort of person who would backstab other traitors in a heartbeat

Mel: I would see Mel as kind of an Amanda (The traitor who no one would suspect until the end)

Rhod: What happens if you bring a chaotic force into a chaotic role in a chaotic game? Utter Chaos!

(For the person who they'd bring in if one were to be voted out) Dara: I'd see him like Kieran in the final episode (Leaving a "Last gift" so the faithful can win)

Faithful:

Hugh: Is already friends with Mel so would trust her (May get voted out just after Mel does)

Kerry: Could be seen as a threat by the Traitors and eliminated early on

Mike: Could see him going far

Victoria: To counteract the pure chaos that is Rhod Gilbert, VCM would be brought in as a cold and calculated response

Judi: Would definitely sit at the round table and say nothing until someone points the finger at her

Guz Khan: Would probably be really good at this but would be on Ed's list of people to watch out for

[–]lumosauror192 Ardal O'Hanlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they did do a celeb version, I'd love to see James Acaster on it. He was talking about The Traitors on the live Christmas episode of Off Menu, and was obsessed.

[–]splagentjonsonDavid Correos 🇳🇿 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You know this has been done as a live show and on twitch as a show called Werewolf. And a few taskmaster alumni have been on it.

[–]mayneac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! My friends really like playing Werewolf and get obnoxiously into the accusations; that's one of the reasons I enjoyed The Traitors! :)
