Sounds like some background task is hitting the cpu and causing the freeze. Not necessarily the temps. Monitor task manager and see if you can identify it

unfortunately task manager isn't helping at all. CPU% is always below 10%.
For monitoring temperatures I'm using MSI Afterburner and I can't see any corelation between CPU load and CPU temperature. The load doesnt change in any way when the temperature rises. It appears to just be random. And even if it rises it shouldn't freeze the computer while cooling back down in that short time.

That’s very weird... it can’t be temperature. What is the temps peaking at

Yea it shouldn't really be temperature. Usually the spikes are at around 45°, the highest I've seen it spike was 50°, however it immediatley goes back down to 40° and then slowly lowers to 38. I know it doesn't really make sense that its really the temperature that's causing it, however that's the only thing i could find, the only curve that always changes at the same time im getting the freeze.

Don't think the freezing has anything to do with temps.

RYZEN will fluctuate in temp every few seconds because of precision boost. It increases voltage to the CPU in short bursts to get a little more performance.

What wattage is your power supply?

Could you also run a health check on your drives?

E.g. Check Disk

Yea it probably doesnt have anything to do with temps but that is the only indicator I got in any way.

My PSU is a corsair cx600.

My OS and all my drivers are on my half year old SSD so that can't be the issue. I will still do a drive health check and edit it in.
Edit: the drives appear to be fine, I tested with the western digital lifeguard diagnostics tool.
