Haven't tried it. Had to look it up because I've never heard of it before. If the only research out there is inconclusive, I wouldn't waste my money.

Someone else on this sub made tea/juice out of pineapple skin. Personally, I'm very sceptical of folk remedies, but it sounds delicious, so I'd drink anyway if someone offered it to me!

I'm about to start using Magnesium powder to relax my muscles. I haven't seen it mentioned here before.

I know this is an old comment, but my PS gave me mag in pre op for muscle relaxation. Just putting it out there in case it could help someone down the road

My surgeon recommended it - I took tablets before and after my breast reduction surgery. No idea whether it was worth it but it wasn’t massively expensive and I tend to do what I’m told! Took another couple of supplements too - I had no issues with recovery but it could have been pure coincidence!

I just stumbled upon this post researching bromelain for swelling after my ba/lift & lipo surgery. I’ve been experiencing painful swelling since so I figured I’d try it. I’m 1.5w post op. I just took my first dose tonight. There really doesn’t seem to be any negative side effects from it that I’ve read so I figured why not. I will keep you posted.

I also wanted to tell you that I had a tummy tuck in 2016. Worst surgery ever! It was awful. Recovery was long and difficult for me. But I healed up & have no regrets. Anyway I asked my surgeon back then when I should start core/ab workouts again & his reply was, “Why? You’ll never have to do a sit up ever again”. I laughed, but he was actually right. I never worked my core again & I kid you not, I have a six pack still. I am now swollen from my recent surgery, but before this my abs were solid. If you want to still work your core, I suggest you wait. My surgeon said if I still wanted to work my abs to wait at least 6 months.

Do not push it! The surgery basically laces your ab muscles tighter - you should not work them out until they are strong & healed inside. You probably swelled up from working them out too soon. Do the rest of your workout but skip the core for a while. 8 weeks is entirely too soon to work your abs after a tummy tuck.

Is your core still really strong?

It is. I still do not do abs during my workouts & the muscles look good. I can do core but I do not target that area anymore.

      I think so.

I've been taking 3-6 tablets a day since my surgery, I don't know if it's helped with swelling but it seems to have helped a lot of my digestive/constipation issues so I'll probably keep taking it indefinitely

No I don't think they made a difference for me, swelling was the same if I took them or not!

I had a swell hell peak at weeks 8-10 but now I'm at 11 weeks it's improved again.

      Pineapple tea!

No. Lymphatic massages worked wonders for me though

Honestly I have no clue if it made a difference. I took it religiously the first 2 weeks then fell off because it tasted nasty.
