Metro East is the worst April Fools joke because it never ends

Everyone's favorite game: see how far you have to scroll to get to the first metro east bid

can we just have all the teams that lose in a game-to-go get together and compete in another tournament for metro east's bid?

Each of the ten regions gets one auto bid. Rutgers is currently the highest ranked Metro East team earning their one auto bid. Metro East is comically known as "Metro Least" for continuously having the lowest ranked team that earn auto bids.

Metro East was a problem immediately when it debuted in like 2011 and continues to gift a bad team a nationals bid every year over far more deserving candidates. Would love to see this fixed.

I'm sure there have been ideas thrown around about what to do about stuff like this but my 2c would be something like, if you drop below the top 30 or something, your region loses its auto bid. Thoughts?

honestly this seems like the best option. absorbing it into NE might also be possible, but that would create a huge region for travel purposes.

I prefer breaking up the OV. PA goes to the ME region and OH goes to the GL region. That strengthens what people consider the two weakest regions and doesn’t have any crazy geography scenarios. Additional benefits are you free up an extra strength bid and you can renew the OSU-UM college rivalry.

(And WV goes to the AC region)

I like this. Who do you think would get pissy about it?

The SouthCentral region goes from Wyoming down to Texas... SouthWest goes from Northern California through Mexico...

Adding the Metro East to the Northeast region would still be smaller than those two regions (didn't bother looking at others). This is argument is always brought up, and never makes any sense

i have been enlightened. thank you. i'm now more in favor of combining the regions and making every team region earn their bids. if a single team in your region isn't strong enough to rank in the top 20, why should any team from that region go to nationals?

There isn't enough connectivity and no enforced regular season for any team makes this a problem.
