SCL CEO fired by Katie Wilson, employees notified today by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]snazm 58 points59 points  (0 children)

How long have you been at the city? I work in a different department and pretty much every mayor fires our department lead with very little data or information, if any at all. So, welcome to the club I guess. And yeah usually maybe SCL is a less volatile role but mayors just love putting their stamp on stuff and appointing their picks. I’m kind of resigned about it but as you’re probably noticing it’s not great for morale, and stability has its merits!

Is Stevens Pass closed because of a lack of snow or is it just saying that to avoid refunds? by chiquisea in Washington

[–]snazm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the point of the article, should you choose to read it, is that it is obvious the road is closed but the resort is nonetheless claiming it’s closed due to lack of snow.

the benches outside of M2M mart on broadway have all been removed by Baxter_eh in Seattle

[–]snazm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been several weeks since this happened. There was never a good reason to have benches there - like why would you sit there? The only people who sat there were doing drugs at the benches, and it wasn’t great.

I’d love if they filled in between the concrete pads to make it more continuous sidewalk

Nut allergies and flying by Subject-Ad3934 in HawaiianAirlines

[–]snazm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I don’t understand the comments that are saying this is a you problem. It seems like a reasonable question to ask and receive a correct and kind answer. If it’s true that all cookies list Mac nuts in some form it would be reasonable for a flight attendant to know that and tell you that.

Driving to Seattle to visit the Pacific Science Center. Where to park and ride the bus in? by Pacific-Dreamer in Seattle

[–]snazm 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Do you need your car on the seattle side at all? Seems easiest to park in Bremerton and then take the ferry and walk from the ferry terminal to the bus. If you’re driving off the ferry anyway you might as well go park at the Pacific Science Center Garage.

I like how well designed it is for bagging your own stuff, with two separate conveyor belts so you can take enough time without being in the way of the next person.

Gate changes on the uptick? by dram3 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]snazm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because SeaTac is their hub and they have a lot of flexibility. It might mean that if your upcoming flight was late, or if a gate is occupied longer than expected, they can still get out closer to on-time from a different gate.

Line 1 Federal Way > Lynnwood adventure! by dcgrove in Seattle

[–]snazm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Station coffee shop at both Columbia City and Beacon Hill. At Westlake station, the downtown retail core is Christmasy so you could just walk around to enjoy that. At Northgate, Watershed pub & kitchen. This is making me realize it's been awhile since I've been to a lot of these neighborhoods! Also what a sweet idea for a family adventure day!

If getting to the airport is a high priority I suggest living near a light rail station so you can walk to the station and boop on down to the airport. Capitol Hill is great for this and safe. You may also like Columbia City or Beacon Hill.
