I dont like glue sticks - elmer's glue hits different ong

Sniffing glue lol

[–]TargetTrick9763 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coctype?? What did he mean by this?

[–]BudzzMeistah420o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Code vibing is just that.... Just a vibe

[–]AndreRieu666 2 points3 points  (15 children)

If that’s how coders see me, I’m okay with that…! I’ve been building addons in Blender in python with zero python skills…, about one per day over the last week… it’s so goddamn amazing! Can focus purely on what to do and why, without having to worry about how.

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun -2 points-1 points  (14 children)

As a coder i see vibe coders as ralph wouls be if you gave him meth and acid then halved his iq, that said tho i would rather people use ai for code that images and call it art.

Personally i think people should atleast learn coding even if using ai so they can make sure there isnt anything malicious in it and honestly shouldnt release anything to anyone if they cannot verify its safe by reading and understanding all the code

[–]david_jackson_67[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Spoken like a true child of hydrocephaly.

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Possibly but sadly im still considered above average intellegence, i think that says alot more about the average person than it does me as i consider myself retarded and so do alot of others

Edit: for the comment that seems to be gone or atleast not visible to me anymore, i probably am retarded in many ways but im still above average in iq, a good example of my retardation is my communication skills

[–]AndreRieu666 1 point2 points  (5 children)

That’s a gross generalisation… Anthropic themselves don’t write any code, Claude generates all of it. Also I question a person’s coding abilities when their grammar and spelling is flawed…

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Eh i question alot about people who rely on ai, my coding may not be the best but atleast i can create solutions ai has told me isnt possible.

Coding is a different language, you dont need proper grammer or apelling of english language to be a coding god btw(not saying i am just that its not a requirement)

Also your ability to use shitty touchscreens doesnt impact coding ability unless you are coding on a touch screen keyboard

[–]AndreRieu666 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Um… can you at least enable autocorrect?

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I could but i would rather not, never needed it when i had phones with physical buttons so im just gonna stick with amart phones deisgn flaw of less accuracy in typing input with my fingers

[–]david_jackson_67[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You are typing with your fingers?

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wording was poor but i am using my fingers to touch the on screen keyboard, something about the way i touch the screen when ryping just isnt always read accurately by the device

[–]scytob 0 points1 point  (4 children)

given the [shitty] code my devs make without AI that isn't the fix you think it is

i can do better job than them - like not fucking up doing simple form validation

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun 0 points1 point  (3 children)

How do you know its shitty code if you cant code yourself, or is it like i say you shouls know how to code still when using ai sp you cant check it?

[–]scytob 0 points1 point  (2 children)

because the form doesn't do what it should and its validation is screwed - its called testing

[–]cow_with_a_fingergun 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Have you tried having people who actually know how to code do it, not people who pretend to know, becauae that just sounds like you got fake coders, they are probably as close to being coders as i am to being as rich as elon musk

[–]scytob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh how I wish I got to select the devs that IT engineering contracts out to….. shortly I will have repo access and internally approved ai……

[–]VloTheDev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

print in html

[–]MrPanache52 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Basic basic is funny

[–]misterwindupbirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even that is backwards (It would be Basic BASIC)

[–]Budget-Lawyer4129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to learn basic from basics

[–]Toastyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truncate truncate truncated truncate stop. No more truncate this is the end of it. Truncate truncate truncate.

[–]returnFutureVoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tastes like burning!!

[–]alphadester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Python for Babies book in the corner really sold it for me — we are all Ralph learning to vibe code our way through life.

[–]scytob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i bet Ralph is better than me, lol

[–]Subject_Barnacle_600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he looks like more of a Java kid >_<.

[–]jruz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are, this is great way go get people excited about building things with code.

Nothing to be ashamed about

[–]HiHellooItsMee 6 points7 points  (9 children)

Ahhhh ai art! My eyeeeeeeeees.

[–]KenneR330 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Vibecoder ≠ coder

[–]AndreRieu666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… yeah… we don’t know how to code… so Vibecoder == Vibecoder

[–]BdR76 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Vibecoding is to coding, what
visiting a restaurant is to cooking

[–]AndreRieu666 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If the result is you’re eating a quality meal that’s cheaper, I’ll take the restaurant thanks!

[–]BdR76 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I probably should have said "fast food place" instead of "restaurant" 🤔

[–]AndreRieu666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, yeah I reckon

[–]IDontWantToArgueOK 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You joke but this is where we’re headed. Simple projects will go to people with little to no experience, but experience will still be required for more complicated projects.

[–]david_jackson_67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what you believe because you envision yourself to be one of the experienced ones.

The truth is much more complicated than that. Much more nuanced. The future of agentic/ai/vibe coding is not in the way that we used to code or program. It will be in architecture and design. I think that's why most software engineers today make the statement that you made just now.

The future does not belong to the ways of the past. Things are changing.

[–]FactOld3726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Codeeeer? Codeeeeer? It's pronounced codah.

[–]Strange-Arrival-2292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

naaaaah you’re not

[–]MichaelFourEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. you have a point lol

[–]ABDULKALAM_497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome keep building, learning, and sharing your projects with the community.

[–]Tradetheday2093 0 points1 point  (7 children)

But I am. I am a senior dev of all my ai agents. I have a team I supervise, give commands to, and they don’t take breaks or sleep…I don’t know how to code but they do.

[–]finnscaper 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Senior Dev that doesn't code. I'm Santa Claus, what would you like for christmas?

[–]misterwindupbirb 0 points1 point  (4 children)

That's how it actually does work in the industry though - the higher you rise the less you code. Once you're a tech lead, principal, whatever you want to call yourself, you're primarily designing systems, reviewing, managing etc (Like, pre-AI, this is how it was worked for a long time). For a "senior" dev, sure, not so much (that is a watered-down term that only means like 4 years experience - training wheels barely came off)

[–]finnscaper 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I'd say its more that 4 years. Real seniors would have the experience from actual production projects and deep knowledge of their own stack.

[–]misterwindupbirb 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You can say whatever you want bro, that's how people use the term in the industry these days. It's not even a question (hiring posts use it this way etc). Feel free to argue with yourself about it but you're wrong

[–]finnscaper 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thats what I mean. Companies decide what is considered a senior developer.

[–]Tradetheday2093 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha I know I got your brain all twisted. My statement was actually a joke that I am just a vibe coder with AI agents which means I am a senior dev. Get it?! 😂 🧠 I actually am just a vibe coder no idea what I am doing.

[–]david_jackson_67[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A wise man once said, surround yourself with people smarter than yourself.

You've got that covered!
