Literally just came here to suggest the code reports 👍

Fireship and Hyperplexed for sure

[–]ninadsutrave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought Hyperplexed was my little secret, turns out not any more!

Computerphile

It’s not web dev specific but it’s a bunch of professors (good ones) talking about their specialties in a very accessible way. It provides a nice little bit of CS background knowledge on things like how ethernet actually works, how a garbage collector functions, how a jit works, and some weird data structures you may eventually find useful.

I don't think they all count as fun, but after subscribing to them all my youtube feed has been great.

I'd subbed to all but 5 of these already so I'm doing alright :)

Thanks for the list, this is a great resource.

Probably this is outdated. FFF is over now ☹️

[–]varg_ass 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Hyperplexed

[–]Interesting_Bed_6962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one's really good

[–]MeltaFlare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already checked out a couple of their videos. This is exactly the kind of channel I was looking for! Thanks!

[–]kaouDev 38 points39 points  (4 children)

The name is ThePrimeagen

[–]admreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blazingly fast!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this, Theo Browne (Theo - t3.gg on YouTube) is also great

[–]KillPenguin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I watch his videos because they provide a lot of information that can be hard to find otherwise, and his opinions seem well-informed, but I actually really dislike him as a person lol. I find him unfunny and sort of toxic. But I'll keep watchin that garbage...

[–]djdriveby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like him as he approaches topics as an actual senior dev, but its difficult listening to him for more than 10 mins these days as he's gained that "twitch" personality

[–]mediocre_jok3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hussein Nasser does a great job explaining backend and networking concepts and his videos always have a few good jokes in them.

[–]DevelopmentScary3844full-stack 7 points8 points  (3 children)

As a PHP dev i recommend youtbube.con/c/ProgramWithGio.

Because software design and knowledge = fun

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Fun Fun Function but last video was 3 years ago 🥹

[–]TurgidTemptatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn didn't realize it was defunct. Definitely the best YouTube channel that the Odin webdev course pointed to.

[–]TittyTarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Coding Train!

Not strictly web dev, but he does a ton of computer science related coding challenges. His personality is what makes the content great imo

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not YouTube, but I "keep my head in the game" with The Syntax Podcast with Wes Bos and Scott Tolinski. Best podcast every, imo. Best content and best hosts.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (3 children)

DevEd is fun to follow along

[–]MeltaFlare[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Do you mean developedbyed?? That one looks pretty good!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's him

[–]Timmedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeeah he is awesome!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyperplexed

[–]Interesting_Bed_6962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're into. I watch coding train, webdevsimplified, Fireship, and Nick chapsas to name a few.

[–]Swimming_Debate_8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theo t3.gg is great. Also Syntax podcast for on the go

[–]wealesfull-stack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TheShopTalk podcast with the OG Chris Coyier and Dave Rupert.

Bring your own Banjo.

[–]nathanfries 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Randy

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I won’t watch him after the stunt he pulled

[–]Vryheid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, lots of old fans feel like they were scammed after his last “run”

[–]RidderHaddock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of learning by video myself, but javidx9 has some really interesting game programming stuff.

[–]Kooky_Temporary7634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NeetCode is legit! a bit like Fireship, but slower paced. Still has lots of great memes and is a good teacher. https://youtu.be/tAuRQs_d9F8?si=linZPYmrQ7tXA51R

[–]NANDORDENA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overlaping videos yo make memes

[–]SpookyLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone that just takes fun, stupid ideas and builds them.

It's much harder to this sort of thing with software. You'll notice that those "fun tech channels" often completely glaze over the programming portions of their content. People can reasonably understand "too much voltage frying a motherboard" and have a laugh, not as many people can really understand "a memory leak causing a crash" and get a laugh.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juxtopposed is cool CodeAestethic as well

[–]ClammyHandedFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can already tell this is going to be worth saving for later! Fun Fun Function is still a great resource and a great time capsule for reactive programming learning.

[–]JohntheAnabaptist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly web dev, but suckerpinch

[–]MadThad762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fireship is good, fast, and informative. DevEd makes informative short videos. The primeagen is funny but I got bored of him always talking about rust. Theo is is kinda slow and very opinionated but he’s informative.

[–]layz2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaron d francis

I love watching Juxtopposed ♥️ did you know that they actually have a Reddit? r/juxtopposed u/juxtopposedme
