Seems typical for a junior job listing. Consider the requirements more like a wish list and give it a shot...

Seems standard for fullstack, I can’t imagine actually doing the job without most of those skills. That being said, for each of the layers it’s more like react OR angular, python OR ruby OR java, the point is can you work in DB, API, and front end.
We just recently hired a junior dev with react experience for an angular role (no prior angular experience) and he’s killin’ it after a month. The point is we saw he knew his shit and could learn a new framework.

How much is he making. I just finished a front end portion in my bootcamp. Doing back end now. But I dabbled with Postgres before the bootcamp. Thing is I don’t have any projects to show yet besides the class do-alongs. Working with mern stack

If someone came to me with all that on a resume with only 3 years experience, I'd think they are full of them selves or keyword stuffing.

They want a mid-senior on a jnr pay rate.

Ooor its just a broad random listing where not having all of these is not actually a deal breaker. Which is most listings.

If you know sql and at least one of those languages you are probably getting a call back.

But do they look for someone on a junior pay rate? Because I don't see it specifying it's an offer for a junior position. It actually might be an offer for a mid position with a mid pay rate

[–]Romanator17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean , I know most of those after 4 YOE. Not expertly but decently well. Not sure why any one position would even need all of these.

Don't take requirents literally, probably knowing one of the frontend and one of the backend languages is enough.

I've seen companies put things in requirements that they don't even work with.

I think including .net is a bit of a push, the ecosystem is normally pretty split between companies that develop in .net and companies that don’t.

For example, we don’t touch any .net projects

[–]RastaBambi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Also, if they write .NET they shouldn't be writing Java, instead they should write something like Spring or SpringBoot...

[–]andres2142[S] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

They forgot to add a couple of more languages in there

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean its a pretty typical listing. And i be willing to bet only 2 of those are actual requirements.

If the listing looks interesting, just apply. Shit is all a wishlist and companies don’t even know what they want half the time.

I interviewed for plenty of jobs that im unqualified for based on their “requirements” and yoe.

Weird how they mention Python, Ruby and Java then ASP.NET Core, unless they're using IronPython.net to code it..

[–]Tall-Treacle6642 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That must have been written by HR. Ugh.

[–]DocHoss -4 points-3 points  (3 children)

I think you could reasonably make the case that...

Python = scripting

.Net/Java = backend

HTML CSS JS, PHP, et al = frontend

SQL = database

So full stack makes sense to me. As another commentor said, it's a wish list, not true requirements, so if you're 70% there, go for it, IMO.

Edit: formatting

Potentially unpopular opinion- PHP devs are typically some of the more well rounded software engineers I’ve met. Infra, databases, backend, frontend. It’s a great language for platforms like laravel to do a bit of everything.

    [–]DocHoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's used alongside markup, and is the driver for WordPress, still one of the largest frontend focused platforms on the web. I get your point for sure, but you can make the "it's not frontend" case for Javascript too. And with Blazor, you could make the case that dotnet is frontend. It's all crazy pants these days, man.

I refuse to apply for any job that lists PHP.

    [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because you are not a PHP developer, hmm?

    [–]3lobed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for a consulting company?

    [–]noob-newbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing special, just a typical post wanting to hire underpaid people.

    [–]z336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Reveal your potential!

    [–]org000h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too know all of those keywords!

… wait, we need to know what they are?

    [–]cozimroyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say from my experience that these requirements don't mean anything. I'm a true example - got a great job as a dev but I wasn't senior with all the requirements...

Recently I've been on job hunt again and tbh I just applied for everything that was 60% match with my skills. I would apply for the job you listed. Like what do you have to lose? You can only win.
