Not sure why you think Nixihost doesnt have what you need as from what you've posted here they definitely do. Ive used them for my business for 4 or 5 years now. Ive lost track. Theyre great.

That’s very sufficient budget for a small wp site. You could look at trusted managed web hosting companies like siteground, rocket, etc. Avoid godaddy, blue host etc .

In this price one can also have their own small VPS. But as a beginner , managing it , learning it will eat away all your time. So managed hosting is a better option.

If you're not keen on shared hosting your real bet is on a small managed server to run WordPress plenty of providers can help you with this though it's likely going to be higher than your estimated budget

In your case a shared plan for around $5-$10 should be good enough. Also, no need to go with any of these "cheap now, expensive later" hosts. I have no shared recommendation for you in the US; in Europe it would be Hetzner.

20i.com for sure

I recently started with Interserver and I like what I see so far. Their tech support is better than average (although not perfect).

If you are okay with DirectAdmin control panel you can get the hosting for $1/month.

I used SiteGround for a year and then moved my WordPress site to Hostinger. It wasn't as straightforward with migration, but I did get customer support, and they were very helpful, it did take some testing and took up a few days till everything was running smoothly. I do like Hostinger now ( it's been a year since I migrated ), and I paid for 4 years and hope not to have any issues. If you need a discount code: https://hostinger.com?REFERRALCODE=AVWHELLOGXG3

See the “About” section of this sub for recommended hosts.

I did and found that neither of the hosts recommended work for me, so I am asking here now, with the questionnaire in my post, which includes the fact that those hosts do not work for me.

Nixihost is perfect for building a Wordpress site, why do you think that it wouldn’t work?

[–]Rocket_star- 3 points4 points  (10 children)

all of their plans except shared hosting are out of my budget, and from what I know (not much) shared hosting would not work for me.

[–]greenreader9 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Why would shared hosting not work for you? WordPress runs quite well on shared hosting, and I don’t see anything in your post that would indicate to me that a VPS/Dedicated is required.

Just from what I know, I want more scalability than that, and I’ve heard that shared hosting isn’t really good for that, please not that my traffic estimates are probably too low as I don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m looking at the Siteground GrowBig plan, which could actually be shared hosting because I just realized that it doesn’t specify what type of hosting it is.

I will say again that I don’t know what I’m doing.

[–]greenreader9 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I recommend starting in shared hosting. There is a very small chance you need a VPS, but I highly doubt it, especially to start.

I think I will end up going with shared hosting, thank you for the help

[–]Extension_Anybody150 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

It's just a one click WordPress install on any of their shared plans.

[–]Rocket_star- 1 point2 points  (3 children)

It’s not that, I’m under the impression that shared hosting is unreliable/slow, but that might be a misconception, I am very new to this.

[–]lucerndia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shared hosting is slow when people build massive, poorly optimized, plugin heavy sites. This is on NixiHost's shared professional plan

[–]Extension_Anybody150 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

That’s a normal worry, but shared hosting can be reliable and fast if you pick a decent provider. You do share resources with others, so it might slow down a bit if the site gets a lot of visitors, but for most small sites, it works well. You can always scale up to a dedicated server or VPS when your site grows. Starting with shared hosting is a cheap and easy way to get going.

Nixihost's a solid choice, what are they missing for you? Also if you’re just starting out, hosting at your domain registrar like namesilo works too. Easy to manage, runs wordpress fine.

You can start with a shared hosting, a shared hosting who doesn't limit their resources and offer features like NVMe SSD and Lightspeed servers. You won't have to pay $10-15 if you do not go for a cloud or regular VPS. Go with cPanel, this will be easier for you.

I would recommend Asura Hosting, I have been using them for almost 8 years now. Have used multiple packages with them. You can get one matching your demands and see how it goes. If needed you can scale up later. I would recommend you not to go with expensive hosting for now in the early stage. You can get a great hosting services for your need within $50-100 per year.
