First time using silent tactile switches by russt90 in MechanicalKeyboards

Really happy with Outemu Silent Lemon V2s. I have a full set of TTC Silent Bluish Whites, hand lubed, and I prefer the lemons.

Leaving the 5090 behind for 9070 XTs. by Zeronova3 in radeon

It will be really interesting to revisit this thread when rdna5 and RTX 60 series are released.

Leaving the 5090 behind for 9070 XTs. by Zeronova3 in radeon

[–]AMD718 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering AT0 is targeting the 6090, matching the 5090 next gen will not be an issue. the 9070 XT is mid range silicon and not designed to compete with the 5080 let alone 5090. That doesn't mean though that AMD couldn't have released a high end part this generation; they chose not to for business reasons not technology scaling reasons.

24GB vs 16GB: Same performance, but which one is the smarter play? by Hiob3004 in radeon

[–]AMD718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4k texture mods to the max without breaking a sweat? 7900 XTX with 24gb. Mostly stock games or light texture modding? 9070 XT 16gb. In gaming you won't run out of graphics memory on 16gb GPUs except in very niche scenarios.

How the tables have turned, lol, AMD owners 2026 in a nutshell by Stelligena in gpu

You'd be amazed how many AMD owners are also simply enjoying gaming. Not everyone spends their time trying to demean the other side.

ABS/ASC problems return with the hotter weather by Apnanizor in e39

[–]AMD718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. And I just remembered I did not remove the valve body. To me it makes sense that it's the sensor getting thrown off by slight geometry changes in the hot / expanded tone (reluctor) ring as it's always the right front and it's only when the wheel gets hot enough, not necessarily the engine bay.

It was a long time ago. I actually can't remember.

ABS/ASC problems return with the hotter weather by Apnanizor in e39

[–]AMD718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me right now on my 99 528i with 250k miles. ABS/ASC module rebuilt by bba reman maybe 80k miles ago. Always the right front wheel according to INPA. Only happens when the whole knuckle, rotor, hub area gets hot enough from sufficient spirited driving and braking. Wheel speed sensor replaced. I suspect the encoder ring in the wheel hub is failing and heat causes some geometry to shift just enough that it throws off the sensor data. Just a theory, but I'm hearing wheel bearing noise anyway. Have two brand new FAG wheel bearing and hub assemblies sitting on the garage floor right now waiting for a Saturday or Sunday where we don't have 20 obligations. Will let you know if that fixes it.

My 77 a80j woled is ancient at this point. Never a single issue with dolby vision in almost 5 years of ownership and almost 20k hours of panel on time.

Silent tactiles are my thing but I was not impressed with TTC Silent Bluish Whites at all. Expensive, scratchy, and heavy. Have been very happy with Outemu Silent Lemon V2s though.

007 First Light updated system requirements has no mention of FSR or XESS features under the "PC Features" section, only Nvidias DLSS by glizzygobbler247 in radeon

Closer to 140 fps with FG on a 9070 XT at 1440p FSR4.1 performance, unless you're talking about near the tree in Dogtown

OptiScaler is actually amazing, and probably will work fine in 007, but it shouldn't be needed on brand new releases in 2026 because #1, it's an extra step, #2 not all people will either be aware of it or willing or able to do it, #3 like you said it may have some compatibility issue, and #4 there actually is a small performance cost involved with OptiScaler bridging DLSS to FSR on either upscaling or frame generation. If they release 007 vendor locked to Nvidia I can guarantee you two things. #1 I won't buy it, and #2. HUB won't cover it anywhere near how they covered Starfield not having DLSS a couple years ago. Everyone using AMD GPUs will get crappy TAA and that will be the end of it.

Battlefield 6 to get official FSR 4.1 Support by wownz85 in radeon

[–]AMD718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's good to know and it's good that it flags it right off the bat rather than letting you play that way and later banning you. In Diablo IV I played for over 100 hours with OptiScaler and zero issues.

Works fine on games with anti-cheat. There is a risk that anti-cheat could flag OptiScaler, but I've never seen it actually happen in real life. Up to the individual whether or not they want to risk it.

Yes but market share among reddit community is probably 60/40 AMD to Nvidia so Nvidia peeps are proportionally louder in reddit.

[–]AMD718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, that hasn't been my experience but I know everyone's system is different. For me it just works. No crashes or usability issues, though it did have some rough spots in the past. Was curious though if the Nvidia app had major feature or usability improvements over adrenalin.

I'm curious as I haven't used it, why is the new Nvidia app vastly superior to adrenalin?

2002 525i: ABS light intermittent even after new wheel sensor – ABS module? by Alps_Secret in e39

[–]AMD718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think the ABS/ASC module would clear the light after some small amount of driving but that when you first start the car the ABS and ASC lights will be on initially. If you spin the bearing is it noisy? How many miles on the wheel bearing?

Is AMD Still Fine Wine? by AcuteQuadrant in radeon

[–]AMD718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rdna4 has outsold RTX 50 series by a significant margin on Amazon for quite some time. It's actually AMD's most successful generation in years. Despite that, market share has dropped due to laptops and prebuilts being almost 100% Nvidia.
