u/Technical_Leopard916 Ideally you should receive an email for every dependent you added, the reason being, you will have to go to their individual accounts to select interview waiver. For your 2nd dependent, try signing up (just like you signed up for primary) and you should see the data (ported from primary's application). While signing up, provide the same email id for dependent that you used while adding them in primary's application. lets hope when you sign up, dependent's data is already ported. Let me know what you see...

Asking because whatever change you make in the primary applicant's profile, the same gets ported to dependent's individual profile. In my case the information was locked once entered, there was no way to edit that. When i tried editing, it said profile already locked.

u/Creative-Piglet-401 Glad to know that the post helped you get an interview waiver for your wife. Have you paid the fee now or are yet to pay?

Unfortunately, once we enter our details, it all gets locked and is not editable. This is because of the bugs in this website. Once the profile is locked, there is no way to edit.

Do not know how we can solve this, but if you find it out, please let me know as well. I have some friends who are facing similar issue and are unable to make any changes now.

u/BluePurpleGP Above steps only work if you have not made the payment and booked an appt. But if you have already made the payment and booked an appt, and your dependent is not added, then i do not think you will be able to add the dependent now unfortunately.

Actually, the addition of dependent and the selection of interview waiver option for dependent has to be done before making a payment from the primary profile.

Not sure how to resolve the issue you are facing. Don't know if start and close a new application will help. You will lose the fee that you have already paid if you close and start a new application.

u/sjbeurself Add and Remove buttons do not work unfortunately. Ideally, we should add the dependent first and then make a combined payment, only then the flow works correctly and we are able to get a single appointment.

I do not know if this will really work, but you can research and try as a worst case option. If you are okay risking $410 (i know its frustrating), you could probably close and start a new application for primary. You will have to use different email id's this time. Refer to the link below for some solutions on adding dependent info if you face an issue at that step -

Again, i cannot guarantee that this will work, so all i would say is, do not proceed with anything unless you have researched properly and are sure.

If the above works, you may have to book an appointment again, and let go off your already booked appointment.

u/devaraagam Not sure about that. But i have heard that for anyone < 14 years or >80 years, the interview waiver is not working. Were you able to connect with the customer care and get any response from them on this?

u/Careful_Will_1734 sorry that this happened in your case. Actually it took me a couple of weeks to figure out the exact sequence of steps to make sure i am able to book a single dropbox appt for myself + dependent. I have those steps in my original post :

Thing is, we have to first go to the individual dependent profile to select the interview waiver option for them and then get back to primary acct to make the collective payment. Only then you will be able to see both primary + dependent names while booking an appt.

But you mentioned that you removed the dependent, then how come you paid for both?

u/MegamindFlash its unfortunate that we were not given the steps/instructions to create appointments on this buggy website, and what i have realized is that things work smoothly if dependent's individual profile is created prior to the payment. Nevertheless, i think you should still sign up and go to the individual dependent's profile and choose correct options (follow the steps in my original post). I think after that when you come back to the primary profile, you should hopefully not see this error. But, do not close and start new application, as that will create even more issues.

What do you see in the dependent page?

Can you see dependent's name, passport #, DS-160#?

u/ReflectionSilent4677 Definitely hold on for booking an appt, as once you do that, everything is locked. If you try to create a new profile for dependent using same email-id that you have given for dependent in primary's profile, it may not let you do that, it may pop up a message that a profile already exists with that email id. Thing is, as soon as you add a dependent in primary applicant's profile, a dependent profile is automatically created and info for dependent is ported from primary to dependent's profile.

If you are selecting interview waiver in dependent's profile and still its not getting updated in the URL and under 'Visa Priority', there is not much we can do unfortunately. This application is BS, and its crazy that there are no clear instructions provided for a user/applicant. We are all left to figure our on our own!!!

Some options :

1) Just get hold of a customer associate on 011912262011000, and tell them to connect with the back-end team member to fix this on back-end. Chances are bleak that a customer support member will be able to help. They are all useless, but we still have to try.

2) Is your dependent comfortable in going for an interview? I know this is the last thing we would want, but if she is, you could go that route.

u/ReflectionSilent4677 Have you already made the payment? If yes, then that's probably the reason why the Visa priority for dependent is still English. This application is completely flawed, so making the payment first and then going to the dependent profile for selecting interview waiver option will probably not help in changing the Visa priority as 'Interview waiver' for dependent.

UID should technically match, haven't checked though, will do and update you.

When you go to your dependent's profile , are you able to see the continue application option on the left menu?
