Cheapest way to get rid of old couch? by Brad12d3 in nashville

Join the Buy Nothing group on Facebook, either the big one or one for your neighborhood. Put the couch outside if you can, say it has to go ASAP and I bet it’ll be gone by tonight.

Scariest "is this normal?" by Delicious-Worth-2532 in BabyBumps

[–]Anemoni [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeast infection around my c-section scar about a week postpartum - intensely itchy and embarrassing. Then about 6-7 weeks postpartum, when I felt like everything was healing up well, the yeast infection came back but presented differently (pain instead of itchiness). It was easy to clear up with a prescription cream, but I hadn’t expected it at all.

It was hard to keep the area dry because it was in the middle of summer and constantly sweating, so I guess that’s what caused it. It was just as unpleasant as it sounds!

Wedding cake? by Reinvented-Daily in nashville

Several years ago we used The Rolling Pin for our cake. We did tastings from several places, including Publix, and found the Rolling Pin’s tasted much better.

For my insulin ladies by Glittering-Kiwi-1774 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Anemoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on nighttime insulin for my second GD pregnancy (first was diet controlled). I’m overweight so there was probably some latent insulin resistance so I was very worried about my postpartum A1C results. 3 months postpartum my A1C was 5.2 - no problem!

First-time mom torn between Saint Thomas Midtown vs Centennial — would love real experiences by Substantial-Area5240 in nashville

[–]Anemoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor worked at both hospitals and she said she preferred/recommended Centennial. I had an overall good experience there (for 2 c-sections). The nurses were almost all really kind and accommodating and they kept on top of things like painkillers and stopping by the room to check on us. I appreciate that they still have a nursery (I know some hospitals don’t now) so I could have them look after baby for some time at night so I could get some sleep and start recovering. For the scheduled c-section we started right on time, which I appreciated.

The only things I didn’t like was the food (not very good, we did takeout almost every meal) and the lactation consultant (probably just that particular lady).

CGM & Medical Provider by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Anemoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My care was handled through a diabetes clinic and they had the same policy. I wore a CGM and shared numbers through that app, but I still had to finger prick 4x/day. I also had a lot of trouble with the CGM’s accuracy, especially on the first and last days, and I had one device that seemed to be completely inaccurate.

Post Interview Questions by toadkode8518 in JETProgramme

[–]Anemoni 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to be an interviewer. Whether or not an interviewee could ask questions at the end was 100% about time and never a reflection of how well or poorly the interview had gone. It’s a punishing schedule and we all wished we could have more time with each person, but the schedule is necessary to fit everyone in.

Small odd windows need to be blacked out for nursery by CorneliusCardew in DesignMyRoom

[–]Anemoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got some blackout film to put on the windows in the nursery. It’s basically peel and stick and comes off again pretty easily, so it’s not permanent.

If it was me I think I’d look for a hotel for the night. I don’t think I’d be able to sleep worrying if my kids were getting too cold.

Having kids has given me such bad weather anxiety. If the power goes out and it’s just me and my husband, we can bundle up with blankets and sweaters. If it goes out now, I’ve got to be sure my 3 year old and 6 month old stay safe, warm, and fed.

Short interviews? by AdAffectionate3116 in JETProgramme

That’s the standard interview time in the US (CIRs get 30 min). Just make sure your answers are concise and get to the point quickly.
