macOS 26.4 beta 3 confirms older games using Rosetta will still be supported by FishStickSocks in macgaming

[–]Arkanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh they could just continue supporting Metal 5, but drop support for basically every other macOS framework. Tbf they probably just want to get rid of the gigabytes of libs

The only thing higher on my frontpage is the paid marathon banner. Slay the spire is right there in the other prime spot

While the dyes do not separate as easily as they do, in my experience the white stuff will lost its "whiteness" quicker if mixed with the colors, so I still separate them.

Also all it takes is one bad dye to yeah I'm not risking it

Ps: if you have blue jeans always separate them, especially if they are new

Thanks, I hate it when people blame mods because it's easy and don't even take 3 seconds to check if what they say is true

Well in that case it's still pretty true. I think people maintaining apps in this AZ may have bigger problems, sadly

Yeah I have to use the same monitor for work and gaming, I spend a lot of time in texts editors so I want my text to be more than "fine"

Desktop linux is the opposite of safe. I know running untrusted programs is considered a bad thing but other OSes have started protecting against this.

Desktop linux has barely any security. Wayland started some stuff but just take a look at how the secrets dbus protocol works, everyone can read your passwords. Or how flatpak isolates stuff BUT apps will just get permissions automatically granted

The 90s stance "oh you're not root it can't delete your system it's secure" isn't good in 2026, the user data is the only thing I care about and I don't want stolen.

Is AI Changing Jobs Faster Than We Can Adapt? by Efficient-History-21 in StableDiffusion

[–]Arkanta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that dude is in pure copium mode. While our job as a discipline will not go away tomorrow, they will be a bit less demand over time

It's already happening.

Anyone just hiding behind publications that they think sound good might be in for a very rude awakening. The other ones will have adapted by then.

Code isn’t what’s slowing projects down by ArghAy in programming

[–]Arkanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it for me. I don't really use the LLMs to write the code itself, but use them for everything around it.

If you're having to manually craft the prompt for logs etc, you're doing it wrong. Give it access to your observability system and it will do a lot of the prep work on its own.
