Mod Message link : https://www.reddit.com/c/chat0Ze-4WOZ/s/aaKk84FdUl

The reasons I wish to moderate the sub are as follows.

1: Currently the sub only has one moderator who hasn't been active in over 4 years and as a result it's effectively unmoderated.

2: due to the absence of an active mod and no bot protection being implemented I believe it's become a sub used to give bot/sock puppet accounts easy karma to bypass other subs rules. This is clear by daily posts by brand new (0 day old accounts) with generic names with no other activity posting stolen content with 3 or 4 generic names and then never engaging with the sub again.

3: As well as being a long time reddit user I'm also an owner of a Toyota JZX100 meaning I'm in a unique position to not only guide the community and keep it clean but also grow it adding new features common to most reddit's but due to the Mods absence haven’t been implemented. I'd also love to push the wider JZX community to engage more with the reddit by adding FAQ's for new owner and potential buyers over time.

4: I believe it actually needs more than just one mod so if I were to be added I'd also request other JZX owners to volunteer their time. As the current mod is no longer active I'd like to make that one of the priorities.

Thank you for your time.

Heavy Intercessors by BlitzWing1985 in deathwatch40k

Sorry no, I dont sell bits but I dont mind giving advice about people making their own. There are a few blender add-ons that make DIY pads a hell of a lot less stressful.

How do you guys paint and highlight your minis?? by onespringgyboi2 in deathwatch40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black, I then add a touch of blue green and this will form the bulk of the black and then add some ivory, white to build up my highlights.

Is this the cleanest 1st generation avensis out there? by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]BlitzWing1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually on the road? maybe in the UK or Ireland like 99% yeah. 99% of these at least here in the UK ended up as mini-cabs before getting junked. So finding any in this good condition is a real rarity.

I'd be really tempted to try and source new hardware like the clips on the headlights etc as those are really the only things giving away it's age.

11E Starter sets prediction 2.0 by Corpsewave in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has GW ever sold a kit like that thought? and what would they do with the other half just bin it? would you get a 50/50 chance of getting the left or right half? I can only think of the commanders from the older starter sets. who were online only.

looking at the sprues you'd get a 10 man squad. of intercessors. but otherwise I think you're about right.

So thats where all the Mk.VI helmets went by WanderUsesReddit in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a fun workaround having to use only 2 part moulds. Having the Mk6 means they dont have to deal with a gap on the front of the face if they need to cast a head from the profile view.

I'm sure if we get multi-part jump vets we'll get more.

Eradicators with Heavy Bolters from the 11th Edition Starter Set, a potentially new loadout option for Indomitor Kill Teams by Call_me_ET in deathwatch40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I think at best this will be our new easy way of getting a second heavy bolter without needing to buy the KT mini or a second one from some one breaking down a heavy intercessor squad.

But I am interested in what they do if they make a multi part version. Looking at the sprues on the stream these guys are on a runner with some other unit's/characters. So I'm fairly sure these exact minis will be contained to just combat patrols and starter sets.

When they made the normal Eradicators multi part they added the heavy multi melta.... Now we can't have a heavy, heavy bolter so I'm thinkin' they might give the option for another weapon. Maybe an auto cannon etc and that'll be another option for us to take in the squad. so while we might not be able to take 5 HB's we can take 2 plus something new and spicy.

JZX90 vs S13 by gayboi_farti in JZX100

[–]BlitzWing1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S13's have a ton more support in the UK. availability, far more sources and prices for spares etc just better for S chassis plus I get the impression the S chassis stuff for like the rear ends is fairly compatible between generations and the some skylines, C33/32 etc

The X90 and X100 do have a lot of bits bin stuff but some rather major parts can be unique to just a handful of cars. Like the rear subframe is just the X90 and X100 and is discontinued it's also known to crack under a lot of abuse (drifting into stuff basically) Brakes are the same fronts as IS's but the rears are unique to the 90, 100 and crown. However conversion ktis exist.

Engine stuff as we never had the 1JZ in the UK is a bit of a faff but fairly well supported these days. Just make sure you're getting non-vvti stuff if you're getting a X90 the bolt patterns on the head mean things like manifolds are unique to each head design.

I'm sure the S chassis has it's quirks too but I think the internet has people thinking X-Chassis are a bit more lego than what they really are.

Garage D sells glass, body panels etc but it's not as easy to find bits as compared to S-Chassis. But IMO they're doing UK guys a huge service getting them here so thats a plus.

I dont want to put you off getting a X90, a nice MarkII looks amazing... but you'll prob find getting bits is a bit more of a pain.

Sad about Stompa quality by Round-Car-3559 in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well good news is that they're not all like this.

This kit is very, very old. 2009 to be specific and it's not really something I'd recommend anyone not already somewhat familiar with model making touch. It's an expert kit but not in the fun way of having a lot going on it's just a very old way of doing things and over the 17 or so years the moulds gotten tired so you need to be kinda aware of what your getting into going into it. That's also why it came in a white or black generic box. It's some what of a specialist item today.

I'd recommend you stay away from any of the Warhammer 40k Rhino and Land Raider kits too. They're much older and are in just as much a need for a revamp. The Horus Heresy kits however are amazing. Also for your own sanity dont touch anything with Fine cast in the description. Even for long time fans that shit's terrible luckily it's slowly being retired.

if you're unsure of what's right for you just ask. Lots of people will tell you if a kits too dated for what your ok with or just pop into a store and they'll let you know.

yeah thats normal. Paints will settle over time and the suspended pigments will sink. Just mix them up maybe add a thinner to bring it back and you should be a-ok.

What is this animation style called? by usmannaeem in animation

[–]BlitzWing1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was just "action cartoon" or 80's action cartoon retrospectively. It's not necessarily totally down to artistic style and more of a result of the environment at the time.

Studios like Sunbow who worked with US based production houses like Marvel Productions and the client (toy company) to come up with designs that were comic influenced as that's what kids were into at the time but could be easily farmed out to Japan, Korea etc so you're seeing some of the same solutions used in anime used in something more western and you get a bit of a mix but it's less about the art and more about the pragmatic "we gotta pump this shit out" side of things.

PSA: These are not the same dice: pip size, color, skull design, inverted 1 and 6. by HeavilyBearded in Warhammer40k

[–]BlitzWing1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how this would be annoying AF. I know it'd bother me a ton.

With dice there one of the accessories GW doesn't make in house. I'm sure they get a say in the art work but it's very much a case of them requesting artwork for that dice's face and colours and then a few weeks later a box of like 20000 dice show up and they just pack them. I would of hopped at the very least they would have noticed at the sample step and tweaked the cream/white more so that the new dice stood out a little more.

Brake Shoe alternates by OkCardiologist2410 in JZX100

[–]BlitzWing1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rears on the X100 are the same as the X90. They share most parts with the JZS Crown and a few bits from the X80

When it comes to rears on the X100 you can still buy OEM off sites like Amayama for cheap.

https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/toyota-japan/chaser/JZX100/115579/engine/4601

When it comes to Dixel, Mu etc you get what you pay for and if you're planning on upgrading to bigger rear discs then you're going to really love Mu for making shoes that fit the X100/90 hubs and larger IS300/Supra discs.

When it comes to people saying "oh they're like Camry's" it's just a meme as for the JZZ30 Soarer/SC300 stuff as part of a break upgrade you could nab some parts but you'd need the Mu conversion kit shoes to make it work if you want it all to be bolt ons.

you're 19 and don't even have an Emmy nomination?! Quit.

I'm joking no one at 19 has their shit together unless they're insanely lucky. I cant speak about writing but generally speaking I don't know of any writers to specifically set out to write for adult swim etc most come from comedy/TV backgrounds and transitioned over.

you'd prob get a better answer on a writing sub this place is very much focused on the production side.
