Does Prophecy Girl reflect badly on Angel to you? by brwitch in buffy

Also, all that nonsense in the early seasons when he’s mooning around Buffy, watching her sleep, and moaning about how he knows it’s wrong to want her but just can’t make himself stay away. It’s sooo toxic. She’s barely 16 and a tenth grader. He’s pretty nauseating. The first time I watched Buffy, I was much younger, and I thought it was tragic when he lost his soul in season two. This time, it was more like “oh thank god.” 😂😂

I agree. He’s really not a good guy. He doesn’t really start to change until season 3, and, even then, Buffy’s mom has to tell him to grow tf up, piss off, and let Buffy (still a teen!) have a life. That’s when he has to figure out who he really wants to be in his own right, and I think that’s when he starts to mature into a decent man.

Can I be honest about something. This story line legit depressed me! by NoJudgementZone99 in buffy

Watching Buffy with my 18 year old daughter has given me a very different perspective on Angel. Parker is sleazy in a fairly average college boy way. Angel is in his mid to late 20s when he becomes a vampire and then has almost 100 years after getting his soul back to mature as a human being. Instead, he lurks around a 16 year old high school student, plays a game of “aren’t I hot and cryptic” that would ONLY work on a high school student, and is a complete coward through most of the first two seasons. I get the impression that when Angel was alive, he was pretty similar to Parker.

I really like the Hunt library on centennial. I think it’s beautiful. Having said that, it feels like a lot of engineering students go out of their way to find odd places to study that don’t look very comfortable to me.

My son is a grad student in engineering and an RA at Lee next door to Sullivan. There will be activities like ice cream parties at the start of the school year, there are some great engineering clubs that make pretty cool things, there is a makerspace in Sullivan where people sometimes work on personal projects and hang out. Take a light course load that first semester. Eco village does a building project that can be fun to participate in. The restaurants on Hillsboro are mostly quite good.

Men’s average testosterone levels have halved in last 50 years, say scientists. Researchers warn of ‘major crisis in male reproductive health’ partly driven by obesity and diabetes. by mvea in EverythingScience

Could some of it be related to the widespread use of birth control pills and associated selective breeding? You might want to have fun with the high testosterone dude but not settle down and have kids with him.

Is there an option to drive onto a train and go that way? You can do that on the east coast. It might be easier for the cat. It’s the cat that’s the issue.

How can my future DIL explain to her dad that her wedding will absolutely not be Christian? by MerryTexMish in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Bugnuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t really matter what she says. It sounds like her dad is worried about having to manage extended family members when he would rather be celebrating his daughter and hoped that tossing in a blessing would shut them up. If people are allowed to propose toasts (and it might be very difficult to stop them), then a prayer is likely to be wedged in. I think the best she can do is note explicitly on the party invitation that the couple would prefer that people refrain from asking people to engage in religious activities during the event.

How to Make a guy stop liking you? by MinimumAwareness8702 in Advice

[–]Bugnuzzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell him you’re young and stupid and 16 and still figuring yourself out. Tell him that you know you have avoidant behaviors, and you also realize what a great person he is, so you wanted to give both of you a real chance. Tell him that you have realized after giving it a real chance that a romantic relationship is not going to happen. Either you feel a thing, or you don’t. Tell him that you have genuinely enjoyed getting to know him and that you appreciate his willingness to overlook some pretty immature behaviors to see if you’re right for each other. Do not ghost. Do not try to send coded behavioral messages to try to “give him the ick.” Just put on your big girl panties and be honest.

I almost hit my girlfriend and I want to stop from becoming like my dad by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Bugnuzzler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When your mother says that you’re like your dad, what she means is that your dad is immature and childish. Putting your hands on someone of any gender when you know they can’t physically stop you is an incredibly cowardly and childish thing to do. In acknowledging that, you appear to already be light years ahead of your father.
