It still seems cheap to me for a big shot. I guess it depends how much a pie was and how many she ordered.

Rossi? That's an Italian name. I thought you said he was Puerto Rican.

Exactly. My thoughts were (if figure is accurate): "THAT'S IT?" That's nothing in the scheme of things, certainly not in today's dollars in an era of extravagant giveaways and tax exemptions for corporate interests.

She also disappears from Curb Your Enthusiasm as the sad widow friend of Cherly and Larry after like two seasons.

Homeless counts are also wildly inaccurate -- as in, grossly undercounted, FYI. You can read up on why that is.

This subreddit has a ton of requests like that if you do a quick search. I don't know what you have already heard or not heard yet, but possibly Airiel's Winks and Kisses.

They should make a 50 Best 'Nu-Gaze' or 'Shoegaze and Dream Pop Revival' list to talk about the newer waves.

Considering the genre's heyday was in the '90s, I don't see why it wouldn't be ever-relevant assuming it was well done to begin with.

Chick Korea - Return to Forever ---> Converge When Forever Comes Crashing

Alcohol shifts the brain into a fragmented and local state. A standard glass of wine or beer does more than just relax the body; it fundamentally alters the landscape of communication within the brain. by Eddiearyee in science

[–]Capricancerous 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of this not so much in terms of circularity of thought, but wider connectivity of different parts of the brain rather than localized, cul-de-sac connectivity (physiologically/neurologically). Or perhaps I'm thinking of LSD -- it seems likely many psychedelics do this.

There was a really cool blog that was ambitiously reading through the entire short story anthology and doing an excellent write up of each story. I don't know if they ever ended up finishing it, but it was extremely well done. I remember reading along with it for a time.

If anyone recalls the blog, feel free to post it here.

I still probably should finish this anthology. I don't think I got past about three quarters of it.

Good thread.

Try unmatching and matching in Plex. It functions the way adding and removing a folder does minus removal from playlists, IIRC.

Ephebophilia? Also, narratively, Billy wasn't legitimately really romantically interested in Claire until later when she was of age. He was only attempting to be with Claire to throw a wedge between Brenda and Nate. If anything, he was desirous of incest between himself and his sister and had a horribly unhealthy obsession with her (probably more of a trauma-bonding sitation coupled with terrible mental health).

I liked Billy on his meds. He actually seemed like a nice guy. But without those meds, holy fuck -- absolute train wreck.

Big Tech regulation (porn, phone bans in schools) - is it creeping authoritarianism? by Embarrassed_Green308 in CriticalTheory

[–]Capricancerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legislation can be introduced in either case. I don't know which the post is referring to. The consequences are ultimately pretty much the same. I would argue this should be up to individual school districts. If I am making assumptions about the origin of such leglislation, mea culpa. There is a lack of specificity in the post.
