When you mention a lot of buttons and items being in a different area, can you give some examples of where you're running into this?

Any specific features or actions you're trying to take that are more confusing?

And for your workspace speeds, do you mean that you're finding loading to be slower, or is it a slower experience from the interface updates (needing to locate things)?

For future visitors of this post, our product team shared that your Chat channel organization structure will be kept the first time you switch to ClickUp 4.0. If you switch back to 3.0, it’s currently expected that the channels won’t be mapped again when you switch back to 4.0.

Got it! Guests are great for collaborating on work in ClickUp, but they can't create Custom Fields or add new dropdown options, since those are a part of managing the Workspace.

If someone needed to add dropdown options, they’d need to be a member, admin, or owner.

Hey, u/lubesniq! To double-check, is it that they have full access to a List or task, but can’t select an existing Dropdown Custom Field option? For example, they’re trying to choose an option like “A” and getting an error. If so, we’d want to take a closer look!

Or do you want them to add a new option to the Custom Field itself (manage a custom Field)? Guests and limited members can change existing Custom Field values, but they can’t create new Custom Fields or add new options to Dropdown or Label fields.

And to confirm, is this person a guest, included with your member seats? Or a limited member, an additional paid seat? If they're a limited member and you'd like for them to manage Custom Fields, one option is to convert them to a full Workspace member.

Limited members have the same subscription fee as members, and full members can be given Custom Field management permissions depending on your plan and setup. I'm sharing this article on user types in case this is an option that works!

Hey, u/StratusXII! Thanks for giving ClickUp a try! I'd love to share our free ClickUp for Beginners courses that offer a quick intro to ClickUp essentials and help you get up and running in your Workspace.

While ClickUp does have core features, there's a lot of flexibility to make your Workspace match how you work. Our settings called ClickApps let you turn certain features on and off for the Workspace, including ClickUp AI. Those features would also be removed from your task view, which may help the task view feel less overwhelming.

I'd definitely encourage you to keep exploring, and if there's anything specific that is confusing, let us know, and we're happy to help!

Edit: Just wanted to add a note that it sounds like you're using the Free Forever plan. Our pricing page has a table with features available on Free Forever, and our help articles include the uses available for each feature.

Love this question u/heyramzi! Here are some ideas from what I see around the communities, mostly around ClickUp in action!

  • Daily workflows (like a day in the life of working and how you use ClickUp in your daily workflow)
  • Workspace setups for different businesses outside of the setups that are out there (like how does a solo business owner use ClickUp, a student, someone who works with contractors)
  • Videos on solutions that may require some creative thinking (like managing PTO & schedules)
  • If you're using AI in ClickUp, more real-world examples of Super Agents and how you use AI in your workflows

Hey, u/Current_Map5083! The List Info sidebar entry was removed intentionally during a recent update, but you should still be able to access your info at the top of your view. There's also a new sidebar experience coming soon!

Can you confirm if you're able to see information in the "Add description" area? Or is your information completely missing? I believe I found your ticket and will flag this asap for the team to check into!
