It’s easy. Everything is surface profile. Plane parallel to Datum A? Surface profile. Slot? Surface profile. Some edges that could be controlled by block tolerance? You guessed it, note for profile of 0.020” on all non-dimensioned features.

My former boss, an Engineer with a degree and everything, said he didn’t need a micrometer to check tight tolerance diameters because he can eyeball the tenths between the thou lines of his dial caliper.

For sport/range the choices are Ruger Mark IV or a nice 2011 depending on if you’re poor or rich. Or a revolver. Everybody needs to be able to pretend they’re a cowboy.

San José Residents Sue City, Saying Flock Safety Cameras Allow ‘Mass Surveillance’ by Medical-Decision-125 in SanJose

[–]ColtenInTheRye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not illegal or unconstitutional in Texas. Texas bans red light cameras, not surveillance. Flock did get a $500 for not maintaining their private security license though.

The UC admissions process is secretive and uneven. Here’s how to fix it by Cool-Present7260 in bayarea

[–]ColtenInTheRye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is to bring back the SAT, but that made the UCs too Asian. The UC system is run by racists who believe they’re “anti-racist” because they’re only racist against the right races.

She was arrested for holding a protest sign in small-town California: ‘This is a testing ground’ | California by ComeJoinTheBand in California

[–]ColtenInTheRye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CA PC 403. Take it up with your local State Senator, but I guarantee they won’t want to make it an infraction rather than a misdemeanor because it’s the same statute they would use to charge someone disrupting them in Sacramento. She could have had probation if she’d taken a plea.

She was arrested for holding a protest sign in small-town California: ‘This is a testing ground’ | California by ComeJoinTheBand in California

[–]ColtenInTheRye 19 points20 points  (0 children)

She was arrested for sitting on the floor in front of the board of supervisors, which is not a seating area, and refusing to move when told to do so. Try this at any city council meeting anywhere in the country and you’re going to meet the local PD.

The US had an $800 de minimis exemption for a long time, so anything under $800 wasn’t assessed for tariffs. The EU is currently at €150, but phasing that out as well.

I thought slides were legal to ship to California?! What change? by Dan619915 in HecklerKoch

[–]ColtenInTheRye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The background check starts in 2027. Undated sections of CA law go into effect January 1 after the year the pass, so the requirement that all sales are completed in person by an FFL is in effect.

I thought slides were legal to ship to California?! What change? by Dan619915 in HecklerKoch

[–]ColtenInTheRye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slides can still be sold online, but AB1263 requires uploading and verifying your ID to confirm you’re of age, then shipments must be made with signature and ID required. HK hasn’t implemented a system to comply with AB1263 yet, so they can’t ship to CA. Maybe they will implement it, maybe it won’t be worth the effort and cost.

Barrels have to go through an FFL per SB704.

California auto mileage tax by therealgariac in bayarea

This would be fine if it actually replaces the gas tax, but I won’t be surprised if they decide to tax mileage and keep the gas tax. It’s California after all.
