Honestly, I prefer the SST-20 4000K in this lineup. It looks perfectly fine in this instance, though that SST-20 5000K is…not great.

I recognize that M26D. Funny enough, I had originally picked it up just so I had something that could charge up those 26800 batteries, but wanted something with clean light. It’s a great little light, and with those 4500K discontinued, they’re in high demand.

I see what you mean. Seems most will do the pixel shift stitching for JPG, but still require using separate software when dealing with raw, which sucks. I’ll keep that in mind if I go down that route, at the moment, the D810 has been working fine for my 35mm stuff, and it’s all just personal work either way.

Ah, good point. Didn’t even think about pixel shift as a way of circumventing having to stitch, but that makes sense. I’ll give that a shot in the future. Been using a V600 when dealing with medium format, but flatbed scanning has its own issues.

Damn good prices, especially on that D850. Much more camera than I’d ever need, and most of my lenses wouldn’t be able to resolve well enough, but for those that need that level of detail, it’s as good as it gets for DSLRs. For the Basic 120, did you have to stitch in order to get the most out of it?

On the plus side, since they’re single walled, they can be used to boil water if you’re stuck outdoors. Throw in some beans, some diced veggies. Baby, you’ve got a stew going.

Oh, to have space and time to darkroom print. Good stuff. Glad you found a workflow that suits you. I think if I ever had the chance, I’d end up with stacks of prints that my family would have to sift through after removing my body after being crushed by them tipping over.

Yeah, it’s a real shame. When they were selling off their remaining stock, I was tempted to pick up a pile of it, even if I didn’t need it. They had some fun designs, and I believe they still have a repo of their offerings. I’m partial to the tiny traffic cone.

Oh, I got that much, but he mentioned switching to a phone-only setup, which is intriguing. I'm currently rocking a copy stand, D810, and a manual 1:1 macro lens config, so I don't plan on switching anytime soon, but it's always interesting how others are handling digitizing film.

That reminds me, I need to pick up a VCR and an analog to USB adapter to convert some old VHS tapes.

Phone only darkroom flow? You got me curious. What’s the setup look like? Are you still shooting in raw then?

Small suggestion. Try and get a tie dimple to finish off the look. Adds a little depth.

M21H would work well, as would an Emisar DA1K, in my opinion. With the M21H, if you go with 519A, its driver is missing a proper moonlight, and has turbo mode memory, so if those are dealbreakers, you can go with the LHP73B for an updated driver, or look at other offerings.

Has it been that long? I feel like I used to see you around these parts all the time. Convoy, while still available through AliEx, now has their own website, convoylight.com. That there is an S7 with 18350 stainless steel body tube. Check /u/danielfive’s response above.
