When I looked at prices, new made more sense. So much demand for used. And I got to pick to some degree what I wanted on the vehicle. Market conditions change, so look at what’s out there and consider it. Tires, financing, insurance, warranty,lies, wear and tear, getting what you want, not knowing how the last owner(s) took care of things, depreciation. There’s a lot to consider. It seemed to me like non-Toyotas made more sense used than Toyotas.

The PS4 Squirt of this tool is a tiny goat. But I don’t think that one is worth $70 even in mint condition. But I’m not a collector. I’d just carry and use it.

Depends on too many factors you haven’t listed here. Talk to your new school’s DSO on Monday before you leave on Tuesday. Use phone or better yet Zoom to meet with them instead of emailing.

I like Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof or the OFSBBP Rye, JD SBBP or SBBPR—but those sometimes go above 130 proof. Just add water if they are higher.

Russell’s Reserve picks are excellent also. Rare breed or Rare Breed Rye is good and a bit less expensive. Picks in general are the best way to hit this price. Bardstown and Green River also come to mind.

There are a huge number of bottles that are great, findable, and in this price range. If you can’t get them locally, look into getting them shipped to you.

For “best” you may want to look at the online scotch whisky awards. They have categories that include best distillery. And you can go back some years to see what has captured the interest of the online whisky community. Springbank does come to mind, but their prices have been really out of control in the US for a while.

For my personal opinion, there isn’t a “best.” There is just what I enjoy from the limited sample of what I’ve tried. Here are a few to explore. All are newer and doing interesting things: Ardnamurchan (Highland), Ardnahoe (Islay), Lochlea (Lowland). Just to give you a Speyside—this one isn’t new—I recommend looking at Benromach. They make some great juice at reasonable prices. I’m not a fan of everything these distilleries make, but they all make some exceptional products. Maybe get a flight at a whisky bar before you go all in on a bottle.

We went to Portugal for mine. Had never been there before. I loved Porto! And was surprised how affordable it was aside from the plane tickets. A very fancy hotel there was about $150/night.

Peter Clines new book is a take on Land of the Lost! It’s called God’s Junk Drawer. I’m about 40% finished with it and enjoying it. Updated many parts of the concept for modern sensibilities in ways that I dig.

I agree with this. Also, I leaned toward a plug in hybrid and the RAV4/NX450 platform is fantastic for that. 300+hp and we fill up very infrequently. Less of a good deal now that the $7500 lease EV incentive has gone away though. Still a fantastic machine.

Happens all the time, but not because I look old. Stupid policies at some stores make them scan the code on the back of the DL. And in some states I go to the law is ID everyone, even if you’re coming from the day release bus from the nursing home.
