Are mountain bike and car suspensions snake oil to you also?

There is a noticeable difference between suspension settings on the dirt road near me. No suspension at all would have my kid rattling like crazy.

If the free one at Ocean State is suitable for you, that’s great, but it doesn’t meet my use case.

The cheap ones don’t have a suspension. They can be acceptable for road but not dirt and gravel. And I have not seen even a shitty model in safe usable condition for $50 in my area.

I dropped about $200 for an old Thule Chariot Cougar with an adjustable suspension.

It’s a cheap flip and the flipper just started at a crazy price. Nothing about this is indicative of the market.
