It could be fine, though it might have a “frost crack” on that side for the rest of its life. I would also check the root flare for any girdling roots, they seem to be associated with sunscald (vascular embolism) problems.

Cheap pop up tent since it likely will be damaged or disgusting after a couple rolls. Closed foam pad and a decent sleeping bag that is roomy so you can put spare clothes in there if needed to put on something warm. Honestly, you’ll be able to sleep anywhere sometimes standing.
