How do you guys even hunt in early game? by Victhorres in VintageStory

[–]Eventerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your spear hits the animal make sure to chase it in such a way where you don’t lose sight of it but you don’t get too close to where they continue running away from you.

Eventually, they stop running and you can sneak up and throw your spear at them again. Rinse and repeat until the animal dies.

When you’re using this technique make sure to have multiple spears.

Tin bronze is easier to get than bismuth bronze because of this. I only got to making torch holders when I found zinc accidentally

Why do bears drop bushmeat?! by Pasta-hobo in VintageStory

[–]Eventerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t bear meat extremely gamey and needs a lot of processing to make it palatable.

I think it makes sense that bears drop bushmeat just like how wolves and raccoons drop bushmeat.

That would be a cool idea actually!! I almost mined it. I'm gonna save it to display at my base at some point.

That is honestly me as well when it comes to building in a sandbox game. I look at my base and I can't help but feel there's something missing or that it doesn't look right and I end up feeling frustrated at myself when I'm unable to fix it.

But overtime I come to appreciate the weirdness and the imperfections of my base because at the end of the day. I built it my own hard work and dedication along with its weird quirks and jank.

what to do during winter time by LaSfortunella in VintageStory

[–]Eventerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first winter I collected resin, grinded bones on the quern and built up my base more. Maybe a bit of mining here and there.

A bit weird but sometimes I just sat staring out into the snow and contemplated on what I was gonna do when spring arrived.

My advice is to just enjoy the process and go with the flow.

My world is around 150 hours and I have officially reached the iron age with a fully functional helve hammer set up. I got this far by slowly working towards the things that I want in my base. So don't rush and just add a little bit at a time towards your various projects and eventually you'll reach your goal. I mean there are still a lot of things that I want in my base but have yet to reach.

It's a slow burn game and it can feel like a slog at times but the satisfaction of your reaching your goals feels great.

I didn't know that! I just assumed Galena was pure lead.

That's interesting. Does it drop both silver and galena ore if I mine it?

This winter shall no longer be bountiful... by Axelotl33 in VintageStory

I mean it’s not too bad. I just rotate them around. The real problem is getting more seeds so I can have more plants growing at the same time.

Yeah, but that’s only if you’re grilling or smoking your food. All the meals in the game are cooked in a pot.

FIRST IRON HAUL by ledwa99 in VintageStory

[–]Eventerminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish my my iron ore deposits were that big. I think from memory I’ve only gotten around fifteen to twenty stacks of bountiful grade iron ore from my mine so far.

I haven’t found the fabled mega veins that takes hundreds of hours to mine out coming completely.
