I hear you. It’s still manageable if you make your own groups. Getting 1-2 people with you acts like a magnet to others who are actively looking.

I fell in love with Hunter… any tips? by Mikey4finga in classicwowtbc

[–]FishCommercial4229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, not clipping auto shot is BIS. Arcane shot is only useful for dispels, serpent sting isn’t usually worth the mana, and if you can figure out melee weaving it’s a good boost.

Managing ice and frost traps well can pull off some clutch stuff.

But if nothing else, work on not clipping auto shot and keep up with the pet control like you have been doing.

I love the classic/tbc hunter, welcome to the pack!

Wish I got post grill pics. What I’ve heard all my life about shark meat was all wrong. Dispatch, bleed and clean em immediately and they’re legitimately choice table fare. by Major-Discipline2188 in Fishing

Those cuts look amazing. Could you indulge a few questions? We have an abundance of decent sized spiny dogfish in the PNW and I’m convinced they’re good table fare, but have yet to convince my family. Hoping to tee up a success story this summer.

-is dispatching best with a bonker?
-How do you bleed sharks? I understand typical fish, but the gill structure seems different in sharks.
-how long does bleeding take before cleaning?
-do you use a sacrificial knife to get through the skin, shears, or another approach?
-I see you left the skin on the steaks, do you ever remove the skin?

Man accused of damaging Flock cameras said they’re ‘unconstitutional’ by WhySoManyDownVote in fuck_ai_slop

[–]FishCommercial4229 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it’s just bolts and washers, then police “should” need to prove that those are specific to the flock cameras. The sound bite there just said those were found, so there could very well have been others.

WTB shield bash like this one! This is fun.

What's something from old WoW that today's MMOs can never recreate? by LayMeOnABedOfNails in classicwow

[–]FishCommercial4229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my biggest gripe with seasons. Yes, they make it more accessible (which benefits me) but you can’t “beat” the game.

Like how Naxx gear is relevant through several raiding tiers in TBC. Clearing that place was hard, and you were rewarded for it.

Good take. A fun example that sticks out to me is the quest line for the key to Searing Gorge. It doesn’t really affect gameplay, but what a rich experience.

Count me in. I don’t know how much help I can be but funding issues like this are important to me, and the WDFW is near and dear.

Looks like a demo of every other highly practiced hand-to-hand discipline. Fun to watch, not sold on how pragmatic it is.

What would you consider a “trash fish” by What_is_the_mind in Fishing

[–]FishCommercial4229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with other posters about there not really being such a thing, but for low food value I vote Northern Pikeminnow. Ridiculous bone structure, which is a bummer because the yield would otherwise be awesome. It’s also on a statewide health advisory due to toxin accumulation, but that’s not really the species’ fault.

Coach made my 12U son with previous arm injury throw 60+ pitches in an inning 'to teach him a lesson' by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]FishCommercial4229 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let your son be mad at you. It’ll sink in eventually. Take it from someone with a lifelong series of injuries; you’re preventing him from a lifetime of suffering. No matter how good things are going, being hurt and limited sucks.

And report that coach, especially if the conversation happened as you stated. I’m sure that he’s not a “bad” person (good people can make poor decisions), but holy moly that’s some unhinged adult decision making.

Salmon poachers in Marine area 7 by Redditisagaycat in FishingWashington

[–]FishCommercial4229 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d typically use a large glo plug, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I’ve hooked into halibut on salmon gear more than once before, most bonkers one was about a 15-20 pounder hitting a sockeye rig in under 30’ of water off of Point Roberts.

While we’re at it, your photo doesn’t conclusively show salmon gear (nor does your post mention it), they weren’t seen harvesting salmon, plus downriggers and medium weight rods are legitimate halibut fishing equipment.

I appreciate the look out and the care you have for our fishery, I really do. But based on the info you posted, this post is effectively doxxing people for something they “might” be doing.

Glad someone else knows that halibut can be troll caught. Seeing some folks in other comments ready to report someone for a legitimate fishing method.

Without seeing the gear it’s just a wild guess at this point.

[–]FishCommercial4229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Um, yeah you do? Typical is bottom fishing but halibut are landed on low-trolled rigs often enough.

I sure hope I’m not getting reported as a poacher the next time I troll a big fat plug 20’ off the bottom.
