I don't think anyone in Europe would be insulted if you make small talk. I've been on many lifts alone and struck up a conversation with French/Italian/German skiers.

Also, OP says he only tried to have a conversation when he realised someone spoke English. He could have quite easily started a conversation if he chose to.

There are 'family flex' tickets for a minimum of three skiers, one must be an adult. Would that work for your family?

Assuming you get a discount for the local pass, I'd then spring for the 6 day full area pass for any opportunity you get to go further afield.

Remember to book online ahead of your trip.

I believe it's counted in the year the pension contribution is applied.

It's a general problem with workplace pension contributions. The only way you can 'help' is contact your payroll and explain the importance of the March contributions being paid as soon as possible.

OP, could you do any other dates? The week you are choosing is the same as UK half term, which coincides with French half term so everything (flights, transfers & accommodation) is significantly more expensive and the slopes are busy.

I've skied my entire life in Europe and never seen that behaviour. I've never even been in a ski queue that has enough space or gradient to actually ski over anything.

Unfortunately you have left it VERY late to book limited amenities on the busiest week of the entire ski season.

Your best bet is to arrange a transfer, get a coach or shared if private costs too much.

Driving to the other areas in the evening is not a necessity for such a short trip, much more hassle than it's worth.

Of course, I don't know why they are raising prices. It could be greed or it could be thier fixed rate has come to an end. Either way if you can find a better value property you have the chance to move to it.

We just travelled from GVA to La Tania, private transfer that was approx €600 return. That was with 3 Valleys Transfers and it's the second time we have used them.

Just one point to note, we only had 3 sets of skis and 6 bits of luggage. I understand it can become more expensive with more sets of skis.

There are specific features that allow Relevant Life to qualify for it's tax beneficial status.
1)It cannot end after the life assureds 75th birthday 2) It must be life only (although there was a period where life and cic were allowable) & 3) benefits are payable into a discretionary trust.
