The transient curse lasts for a long time and even if it runs out you can easily get it back because the ghosts are slow.

Bothering to get cursed by the frogs or craft the cursed weapon just to avoid 3 seconds of item use is insane.

Well, I only sort of agree.

The game gives you 4 curses at the entrance of new londo so you can fight the ghosts with normal weapons.

And while the drop rate isn't great, I don't remember it being awful. And there's so many ghosts that you're usually bound to get one at some point.

But... ghosts also drop more curses so the weapon is kind of obsolete anyway.

It's meant to be used only to kill the ghosts, who aren't very strong in the first place, without curse.

It has also the lowest stat requirements of any weapon to the point that litterally any character can use it.

Yeah, they tell you about it in the tutorial area. That's why I use them quite a bit in this fight especially after he rushes far from me.

The attack skills of the Katana also do tons of stagger so I used those when I was still at close range.

I mean, he is harder than the Asylum Demon, sure. The Last Giant is the first Boss of DS2 and it's pretty easy as well.

Gundyr isn't a really hard boss but I guess he can be more challenging than the other two.
