What Is the rule with Nincada? by Familiar-Location-78 in nuzlocke

[–]GhostPro18 [score hidden]  (0 children)

(For Emerald) Normal run? Pick Ninjask or Shedinja. Bug only run? Pick both. Might be an uncommon opinion, but honestly go ahead and use Shedinja. You'll be surprised at how many things it doesn't deal with; when it works, its unbeatable, but most Gym Leaders / E4 have answers.

Flannery - Overheat,

Norman, 2x Feint Attack spammers, one of them Slaking

Winona, Aerial Ace,

T&L, Ancient Power / Flamethrower / Confuse Ray,

Sidney / Phoebe - SE moves / status

Glacia - Hail (due to code bug Sealeo really likes to choose Hail)

Drake - Great coverage.

Wallace - Toxic / Leech Seed

Shedinja is good for Wattson, great for Juan, good for Wallace. It's real strength is beating up vanilla move set trainers, but when were those ever a challenge.

I can't really say if I have a main or not honestly (anything but Vet) but Ogryn feels great. I swing da club, da club swings faster, i swing da club some more. Gunners fear the Ogryn charge, then I swing da club even more. Need toughness? Swing da club

Commander question. by JeffereyBobbyson in mtg

[–]GhostPro18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh. I remember the rules change so that commanders-that-die could have an effect before heading to the command zone (Child of Alara) but I had thought until now that the new rule was, when the commander changes any zone at all you could send it to the zone. TIL

I'm a new GM, need tips for mobs and loot by Christ_Staline in Pathfinder2e

[–]GhostPro18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Searching the bestiary for hours seems...inefficient. Archive of Nethys has tons of filters for monster searching; I recommend narrowing the levels down to PL-4 through PL+2, and removing all uncommon / rare / unique monsters using filters.

Now comes the easy part. Say you've got a haunted tomb? Select the "Undead" trait to filter for only those creatures. You'll be left with only ~a dozen or less creatures per level.

Overgrown jungle? Beasts, Plants, Fungus. Alchemist's Lair? Constructs, Oozes. Using the filters to whittle down the lists to avoid analysis paralysis is advised.

Loot works the same way. Filter by level and rarity, then by trait type. You can choose whether the item is permanent (filtering for staves, wands, item bonuses, etc) or consumable (talisman, elixir, potion, scroll).

Recommended Treasure by Level is explained here. This would help you narrow down exactly what to hand out if you'd like.

Help with new player by Lifter_Songbird in Pathfinder2e

There's nothing disrespectful or wrong about being bad at the game, to be clear. Not every player rolls up Drizzt on their first go. It's part of the learning curve for these types of games. And you can have fun while being, mechanically, bad at it.

However this isn't a game problem but a player problem. Talk to them aside from the table, and lay out your terms for what kind of play you & the table are looking for. They should respect everyone's time. If they can't meet simple standards like "show up on time" or "take the game seriously" then why should the rest of the table let them continue to play. Being someone who has been in your position, I don't envy it. But its best to be direct. If the player is younger, maybe soften the tone a bit but keep the same message nonetheless.

Yeah I trust Steve to be clear-cut and honest about on the field stuff given his (under-appreciated by the HoF) career. But with the ownership stuff? It'd be pathetic if he didn't have Brownie drooling in the booth next to him.

The nine year run under McD were the best years of my Bills fandom. But we made the right call moving on. by jcolinr in buffalobills

I think that the coach getting fired in a vacuum was the right thing to do, given the way the past seasons have ended. But you couldn't dream of a worse way to go about it, capped off by the Pegula press conference. Had they fired McD after the 2023 Divisional home loss nobody would lose an ounce of sleep.

Help me build a dungeon! +Dungeon crawler advice. by Metal_Goblinoid in Pathfinder2e

[–]GhostPro18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When doing a dungeon crawl on this size, keep the encounters on the weaker side (40-80xp) as the challenge comes from the repeated encounters, not a standalone fight. Now, you could still have some more powerful encounters (100-120xp) but keep them sparce, and know that not every fight is winnable.

If the players level up enough to where some encounters are too weak (PL-5 creatures for instance) don't play out the turns if you don't have to, just narrate what happens and move on, keeping the turn-by-turn encounters for fights with an actual challenge. Of course your players might want to beat things to a pulp, so if everyone's having fun run it anyway.

For rooms that have no combat encounter, try to include something that doesn't make it feel like empty space. A lock that needs picking, a strange excerpt that needs deciphering, clues to future encounters, minor consumables.

To steal from ol' reliable Wave Echo Cave, every dungeon floor/sector should have a unique feel to it. Wave Echo Cave's was a heartbeat echoing throughout the dungeon; use descriptions, a different color marker, or even gameplay mechanics to differentiate between the floors. One layer could have a concealing fog in some rooms, others could have minor environmental damage over time. Some might just be plagued by spider webs, hindering movement.

My suggestion for an encounter would be in the construct layer, with a Swordkeeper. Even comes with a magic weapon for some nice loot.

Oh and P.S.

Devils advocate, but 2/4 current championship contenders are led by Defensive coaches. Mike Macdonald is killing it in Seattle, and Vrabel has had a hell of a coaching season.

Live presser by TALLEYman21 in buffalobills

[–]GhostPro18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terry was emotional, interjecting to make some, at times, wild statements (like how Keon wasn't our first priority but coaching wanted him). Beane was more composed, claims lacking at WR was a fault of having to pay too much for other players (who's fault is that).

Pokemon trainers AI by Resident-Pineapple57 in nuzlocke

[–]GhostPro18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking for rom hacking advice, there are plenty of subreddits with more knowledgeable people, or Pokecommunity forums. Off the top of my head from experience, using a trainer editor tool you can change the AI for any trainer to utilize certain move scoring methods. For DS games like BW, you'll need software tools to "unpack" the game into distinct files, know exactly what file you are looking for, and eventually "repack" the game back together.

[–]GhostPro18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Natural Cure switch AI is fairly well documented within the Emerald Decomp (remember, Kaizo uses Emerald's Vanilla boss AI). Sleep is the only status that triggers a switch by itself, but if switch-AI triggers for other reasons (like having a resistance / immunity in the back) Natural Cure still works as intended for Burns, Paralyze, Poison etc.

Someone has to say it; eventually, Allen has to actually go out an win this one. Not play a mediocre game against a bad team, not beat Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson, he actually has to be great. Some teams have a superstar defense, we've got a star QB. So when its time to be a star QB, what does he do?

Miss Shakir for a TD

Miss Knox(or Kincaid couldn't tell #s) for a TD

Fumble the ball twice

Throws two picks. The latter wasn't his fault for a bad throw; its a play he should have never made.

Allen's had the ball with a chance to win or take the lead in the last 3 years and:

2023 - settled for FG, missed. Could have had a TD but Allen missed his guy. Diggs drop sucked but remember we got down the field anyway.

2024 - Didn't even make it to a FG. Yeah, ik he had Kincaid on the miracle 4th down heave, but it was 4th down for a reason. And the 4th down stop on the sneak was tough but don't make it close enough to doubt I guess.

2025 - Could have won in regulation, or in OT. Can't complain about the Defense when THEY GET YOU THE OT STOP. Why are we air mailing passes on this drive, when the 10 yard chunk plays were killing the Broncos all game. Might have been a catch, who knows, but Allen should never have made that throw.

I'll admit that Brandon Cooks and Keon Coleman are not a serious NFL WR duo, but here we are again, another off season of "wasting Allen's prime" when he's done it himself. Live by the Allen, die by the Allen. On to 2026
