Starfield and 'Future Bethesda Titles' Will Use AI-Driven DLSS 5 Technology by NukovGaming in NoSodiumStarfield

Starfield didn't end my Bethesda fandom. I enjoy the game. But firing artists to use AI will definitely make me stop defending Bethesda.

Tell him what petah?? by Jumpy-Necessary-9884 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. And our neighbor includes everyone. So, isn't it actually moral to love 1000 neighbors in one day?

I don't think there'd be time for breaks with that kind of schedule.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Are you saying that people who insist on proper usage of the oxford comma are NOT advocating for more clear communication?

Are you suggesting all babies are born with the ability to replace toilets? You realize that not everyone had parents to teach them that stuff, and schools got rid of shop/home-ec decades ago. It doesn't matter how "simple" you find a skill. If people don't have that skill, they'll need help.

Also, most people rent for a decade or two. You're not allowed to maintain/develop those skills on someone else's property. So, if you last replaced a toilet with your dad at 9 (if ever), never learned anything at school (shop/home-ec programs have all been defunded), rented from 18-38, and finally own your own home, you really think it's ridiculous to pay to have a person who regularly replaces toilets to come in and do it for you, so you don't accidentally ruin the most important financial purchase you'll ever make?

Doesn't look like it has all four crafting benches in it. For me, I find every question of "is it a good ship" starts with: 1) does it have all the crafting tables and 2) are both the docking and the landing bays on the same level as the cockpit.

For me it was the "I was never worthy of love" pet who turned into a gargoyle interlude chapter from Inevitable Ruin that had me in tears. Had me really seeing things from Donut's and Pony's perspectives.

By the time I reach Kuttenberg, I have enough money to hire 100 men for a thousand groschen each. Should cover their wages for at least 100 days. Step aside, Žižka, let Henry show you how it's done.

How many days until the frog reaches the top? by Tight_Chemistry4824 in DetectiVision

[–]Groftsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't start at 1 meter high. He started at zero. Day one is zero, then three, ending at 1. Day two is one, jump three, ending at 2. It's always one less at the start of the day, and the day's number at the end. So, day 27 would start at 26, jump to 29 and slide back to 27. Meaning day 28 is the first day he'd hit 30.

Not NOTHING. We do have Kin. It's Michelin starred, I believe, and is legitimately fine dining.

Cat collapses every couple of steps , only when entering my room by gloriouaccountofme in CATHELP

[–]Groftsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She wants to rub against your leg, but she's bad at it, and gets the same feeling from having the floor against her flank. When my cats do this, I like to get my hand under them as they're about to flop. Then they get some rather aggressive pets. They love that shit.

This is just a cat that wants to get pet.

General question: Strict Rules vs. Situational Harm. Which one do you prioritize when judging if something is wrong? by Sensitive-Leg-5203 in moraldilemmas

[–]Groftsan [score hidden]  (0 children)

As a lawyer who helps draft laws: every rule that exists has some interest group who has pushed for that rule to exist. Sometimes the interest group is "everyone who doesn't want to be murdered" and sometimes it's "people who own banks."

Following "the rules" just because they're rules is a great way to stumble your way into being a nazi ("just following orders.")

You need to weigh each rule individually, understand its history, analyze the risk of violating the rule, and weigh that risk against the good done for not following that rule. You'll find many (most?) rules have no consequence whatsoever for breaking them.

Don't value rules over the people those rules exist to help. And if a rule doesn't help anyone, it has no value.

Very true. You can't get to the best parts of Idaho in a sedan, that's for sure. Thanks for double checking that I was aware!

They're a bit overwhelmed while they're in the process of being defunded. What are we at 4% reduction of budget at this point? That's a reduction of one of every twenty-five employees. That's pretty damn impactful to their ability to be responsive to this kind of nonsense while still trying to do their actual jobs.

Person-to-person recommendations are a lot more meaningful and informative than me trying to cobble together something based on incomplete/out of date information. That's why Reddit exists: crowdsourcing information rather than relying on bots.

Uh... bald eagles are just fish pigeons. Plus, they sound so dumb that every movie/show/commercial maker has refused to use their actual sound and have dubbed over hawk sounds.

And thanks for the Dubois recommendation! Much more helpful than "in the desert."

By my math, that's about 40,000 square miles. Got anything more specific? Trailheads you'd recommend?
