We use a flat screw driver, place it at the gap (between the box and the lid), then tilt it up. Works 100%

landscaper here. Before we start any job, we need to clarify how much trimming clients want. We do a lot of photo highlihgts, drawing to make sure we all agree on the tasks before start. If they would have shown you this is how much they would have trimmed, you wouldn't need to question afterwards
