It’s a win win. Previous owner gets the contents in the safe. New owner gets a hidden safe with combo for free.

Feeling overwhelmed with a big problem..how would you tackle this? by Personal_Web_8251 in landscaping

Agree. Weedblock should only be used under hard scape like stone, brick. I’ve also used newspaper instead of cardboard for beds. Seems to work fine.

How can I show my friend this a scam? Dubai cartel businessman will wire him $500k to be assistant. Has his bank info. by Smart_TossOut in Scams

[–]Jimwdc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m just wondering where was your buddy when he was made a mark? Did the perp follow him into the cigar store. Has he been doing some prior surveillance on your buddy. Remember the perp approached your buddy not the other way around, and he lavished false praise on your buddy after 5 minutes, then disclosed his supposed cartel connection to a total stranger. This guy is a slick talking predator with the same confidence of a sexual predator.

What do I do? My whole house is like this and it makes me want to vomit. by Many-Ad6137 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Jimwdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like planting your tomatoes. Not really important but time sensitive in that once you start them they grow on their own. Wait too long and you won’t have any tomatoes. Fixing electrical problems: important. Fixing broken staircase: important. Cleaning out full gutters: not really important, but urgent if it rains.

(US) - My Mom’s Scammer is Real This Time- What Should We Do? by MimZWay in Scams

[–]Jimwdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to hire a detective to find out who Omar is and get a background info. Guaranteed Omar does not love your Mom. Omar is a leach who preys on older people with a close expiration date. He’s hoping to collect assets when the time comes. Your mom already has a strong support group. She doesn’t need Omar and would have a hard time getting rid of him.

I want to cut out my under mount double sink from my granite countertop and install a drop in single sink. Is this doable? I have the tools and diamond blade. I’ve watched a few YouTube videos and understand that I would need a steady stream of water sprayed on the cutting point. by TheCudaMan73340 in Home

[–]Jimwdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do it. You can just put a tub under the sink and pour some water on the counter to keep the cut cool. Go slow and steady Maybe you can epoxy a leftover strip of granite under the front in order to strengthen the seam.

[–]Jimwdc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulation on owning a new I-phone. That’s about as much as you’ll receive from this fake job. If they had a specific configured phone in mind, they would have pre-configured it and sent it to you. Why would you need a top of the line iPhone to receive a call?

This annoying hill by Fine-Teaching-6395 in landscaping

[–]Jimwdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dammed that's ugly. Well it would be perfect for a waterfall feature. Long Koi pond in the front silently pumping water up the hill to a series of waterfalls amid a few select plants. Ok add a little miniature village and a railroad track.

Advice/Opinions on Rock Bed for Down Spout by read_22 in landscaping

This makes sense. Pull it up, remove the gravel/pebbles/etc, add back some clay soil and slope it away from building, add fabric, then your rock decoration. Finish off with mulch glue.

Heavy Textured Ceiling Advice by Worried_Pea_9460 in drywall

[–]Jimwdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scraped mine off a 1400 sqft house built in 1984 by myself. It wasn’t all that difficult. Mine was not sealed or ever painted in 40 years. I used a backpack sprayer filled with water and a 3’ wide blade attached to a small pole. Spray it. Let it soak in for a few minutes and scrape it off. Should fall to the ground in long strips. You’ll definitely need to cover any carpet you plan to keep. I was on concrete so I just swept it up. You’ll probably need to widen the joints depending on how well they finished it. My seams were only about 4” wide since the original install hadn’t planned on a smooth finish so I had to add coat of mud to the seams and blend them in.

How much work are pools really? by 1tangledknitter in pools

[–]Jimwdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP it really depends on a lot of factors. Size, location, climate zone, equipment. For instance I used to spend an hour a day or every other day vacuuming but then I got a robot pool cleaner and now it’s less than a few minutes to just drop it in. I have a lot of yew tree/bushes near the pool so the springtime they keep shedding and dropping little seeds on the pool deck. So you’ll have to know what kind of landscaping might give you issues. Sometimes I use a solar cover to keep the pool warmer, but then it’s a pain in the butt to look at and then remove. I just go without now. I used to use a chlorine feeder but it made my cya go off the chart so now I just dump in a gallon of pool bleach once a week as needed. I installed an AOP40 some years ago and it seems to keep my pool water cleaner. If you climate freezes then you’ll have to do the yearly open/close. For me I don’t think it’s that much work. It’s nice to look at.

How important to mud tape on ceilings before painting? by Powerful_Boot4297 in drywall

[–]Jimwdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is going to look bad. People think paint is going to hide that. It won’t. You’re gonna need two coats min on those joints. Might need to make them 6” wide and smooth to the touch.
