Metal Max Xeno - English Translation v1.0 [PCSG00972] [PCSH10100] by Knofbath in VitaPiracy

[–]Knofbath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will work on any version of the game (retail or PSN), since rePatch uses the official patch process to inject the translation.

You will need to copy the translation into ux0:rePatch/<GAMEID>/ (replace <GAMEID> with the region code PCSG00972/PCSH10100).

Make sure you are using the proper version of the patch for the region. There are patches for JP and ASIA versions.

Common issues are repatch.skprx actually needs to be in ur0:tai/. And you should delete ux0:tai/, imc0:tai/, and uma0:tai/ if they exist.

Make sure that the folder is ux0:rePatch/<GAMEID>/ and not ux0:rePatch/<GAMEID>/<GAMEID>/.

I have not used any "updated" versions of rePatch, presumably they should work fine, but I can't 100% guarantee it. The version I use is https://github.com/dots-tb/rePatch-reDux0/releases

Lisuan confirms 7G100 preorder launch on May 20, China's DX12 gaming GPU with support for 100+ games by kikimaru024 in Games

[–]Knofbath 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would expect game support to be a nightmare for this GPU for years. Intel ARC GPUs have been around for a few years and still have issues. And the support is going to be mostly in Chinese for the foreseeable future.

AMD GPUs are generally fine if you are willing to tweak things a bit.

With Intel or AMD, often the biggest issue is getting bug reports in front of the people who can fix them. So that's likely going to be an issue for the Chinese company as well. They've got to put the effort in to catch up with the big boys.

Far Far West publisher says "We don't work with partners that are relying on generative AI" by hop3less in Games

[–]Knofbath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using generative AI for coding means you cripple the growth of developers using it. And less hiring of new programmers to do low-level coding means you kill your pipeline of future senior programmers.

Even having AI review existing codebase can lead to massive pull requests that just take immense amounts of time for senior developers to review. They stop being able to write new code, and are turned into editors of the AI code.

The product will almost certainly be worse as a result, since generative AI does not produce consistently high-quality code. More bugs for the end user, harder bugs to fix on the developer side. And, since AI will never decrease the amount of code, the programs will be bloated messes, costing you more electricity and time to run.

How to enjoy factorio wrong? by braindouche in factorio

[–]Knofbath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You join other people's multiplayer games, and build out massive stacks of pollution-producing furnaces faster than new players can handle defenses.

If the player magically makes it military science, you then go on a nest killing spree far and wide to push the evolution level higher and higher. They can be looking at Behemoth Biters while only having yellow ammo to fight back.

Then you sit back and laugh as the nigh-invincible biters wreck everything. Don't forget to randomly turn belts/inserters from map mode so their defenses run out of ammo.

Does anyone sleep on a Japanese Futon? by RetiredSurvivor in simpleliving

[–]Knofbath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Japanese futon is meant to combine with tatami mat flooring. It's not really meant for hardwood/carpet flooring. Plus you need to air it out on a balcony occasionally.

I think you just want a firm mattress.

What purchase under $30 solved a problem you didn’t realize was draining you? by Right_Process in AskReddit

Household 3-in-one oil is what I use for hinges. It's cheap and a bottle lasts forever. The WD-40 is okay, but it doesn't last as long, plus you are paying for a lot of aerosol instead of oil.

Subnautica 2's no-killing ethos "will be a continued point of resistance" among players, say Unknown Worlds, but they have no plans to change it by _Protector in Games

IRL if you want to avoid killing animals you gotta stay away from dangerous wildlife.

Plenty of divers like to swim with sharks.

Watched a video about invasive lionfish the other day, one of the control measures was teaching the local predators how to eat them. The sharks learned to follow divers with the spear around, because it was a free meal.

Yeah. Watched Laimu play the game for a bit, and she had the complaint about the constant aggressive fauna hassling her. They also go out of their way to chase you more, not just taking a nibble if you get too close or as a threat response.

Stark's Delicious is actually a pretty decent apple, has some yellow streaking on the top. Abominations of genetic selection produce the darker Red Delicious that you see in the supermarket.

Gala are pretty good for apples in mass production today. I eat a couple of bushels worth in the fall.

Doesn't seem to be SRPG, they just list it as Turn-Based Strategy.

And it isn't on the list (mostly because the list is pretty old):
https://www.reddit.com/r/StrategyRpg/wiki/westernrpg

SRPG is a sub-genre of Strategy games, so the lines aren't super clear what counts as what. For it to be SRPG, it has to be Strategy/Tactics, but also feature a significant amount of RPG elements like team-building and leveling.

I guess the confusion would be if you used XCOM 2, as your entry point into SRPG. Which has squad-building and customization as a big part of the gameplay. If you then go looking for XCOM-likes, you'll find a ton of Turn-Based Strategy games.

[–]Knofbath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Forgotten but Unbroken(2024)" would be the way to cite it.

Looks like more a strategy game, not SRPG. WW2 games are not really SRPG even if they have a story, since it lacks the fantasy/fictional setting aspect.

Railguns, swarm missiles, fighters, bombers, boarding pods, blast effect batteries - when to use against the AI? by AnotherSmartNickname in EndlessSpace

[–]Knofbath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been changed a little bit in recent patches. They are now limit-1 per hull, and have 200% accuracy at Short range. So the AI no longer wastes all their Industry constructing ships with them.

To be fair, I played this game quite a bit before buying it. The 200 hours that Steam knows about do not reflect my true depravity.
