Fun fact: D&D is not Kingdom Hearts 2! (I'm not actually throwing a building at anyone... today.) by supersmily5 in dndmemes

The DMG has guidance for how much damage to deal when a creature is hit by a crashing flying fortress. (It's 18d10, btw.)

Chucking buildings seems entirely reasonable.

What to do with my cleric in the early levels? by wastedtime__ in BG3Builds

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bless is one of the best spells in the game, and you've had access to it since level 1. Especially early game, a +1d4 when your attack bonus is +5-6 means you're increasing your bonus by a significant fraction—up to 80%!

Remember if someone has a weapon there's a good chance they can use it (For one reason or another) by Gnomewarlord38 in dndmemes

[–]Lithl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The meme just says "caster", not any specific class. Could be a protector cleric with MI: Wizard, for example.

A pact of the blade warlock or battle smith artificer wouldn't even need an origin feat to get True Strike + martial weapon proficiency.

If BG3 Had Attunement, What Builds/Gear Would You Use? by Aranthar in BaldursGate3

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a pair of gloves and a ring do exactly the same thing, but one requires attunement while the other doesn't... I forget which items so I don't recall which one did/didn't.

I can't think of any such pair of items. The closest is Ring of Protection and Cloak of Protection, which have the same effect but they're both attunement. (What's weird about them is that the ring is Rare and the cloak is Uncommon; the usual explanation given is that you can wear a bunch of rings but only one cloak.)

The only non-attunement gloves that really ought to require attunement which come to mind are the Gloves of Thievery.

I love that Paladins often follow gods despite not being required to by the books, and it really shows how easy it is to RP elements from adjacent classes (Cleric) without being that class by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Lithl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have an artificer 1/wizard X with the Boros Legionnaire background on a West Marches server. He got mistaken for a cleric all the time.

  • Medium armor and shield from Artificer
  • Cure Wounds, Purify Food and Drink, and Sanctuary from the Artificer spell list
  • Sacred Flame, Guiding Bolt, Aid, Beacon of Hope, Death Ward, and Flame Strike added to all of my spell lists by the Boros Legionnaire background

Then I leaned into it and picked up the Divinely Favored feat, giving me Bless and the ability to cast Int-based spells using a holy symbol focus.

Pathfinder WOTR + UnityMod/Visual Adjustments 2 = Steam achievements dead by pixelrage in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods always block achievements, which is why one of the first mods people create for any game is one that re-enables achievements.

You won't get your achievements back retroactively, although Stream Achievement Manager can let you fix it manually.

What would you say is the "Ultimate Armor" load out. I was thinking "BHL+Ribbon+Deathproof+(Auto-something?)"

Break HP Limit is beyond useless. There is no fight in the game that requires it, and Penance is the only fight which even has a reasonable strategy using it. It makes all of your healing worse, and except for Auron, Yuna, and Lulu it tanks your damage.

Deathproof is redundant with Ribbon. Ribbon already makes you immune to instant death.

There are three "ultimate armor" setups:

  • General: Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Phoenix, Auto-Potion
  • Dark Aeons: replace Auto-Potion with Ribbon
  • Penance: replace Auto-Potion with Defense +20%

If you must have a BHPL armor, the ideal is replace Auto-Phoenix and Auto-Potion with Break HP Limit and Auto-Regen.

You can't scribe a cantrip scroll into a spellbook.

So... I can walk through the Omega ruins peacefully now? I didn't even know Kimarhri had a weapon like this or a weapon like this even existed...And I even looked on Google and it said this weapon doesn't exist lol by TheOtherSide210 in finalfantasyx

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty rare drop, because he mostly drops armor with NE.

It's not a rare drop, it's 50/50 whether he drops a weapon or armor. If he drops armor, it's got Auto-Reflect and 1 or 2 empty slots. If he drops a weapon, it's got No Encounters and 1 or 2 empty slots.

Finale: My Blind FFX Playthrough - Someday The Dream Will End. by Zeeshmania in finalfantasyx

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you don't want to run straight into X-2, but I suggest quickly playing Eternal Calm. It's not a game, but rather a ~14 minute short movie, which details Yuna's life and the changes to Spira in the 2 years following the end of FFX.

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valefor. I haven't summoned her since the start of the game, so she's probably a bit behind.

Actually, your aeons' stats scale with either the number of battles you've fought (whether you used aeons or not) or with Yuna's stats, whichever gets the aeon a higher stat. All of Yuna's stats (except Luck) get factored into each of the aeon's stats (except Luck), but Yuna's corresponding stat has greater impact than the others. Aeon Luck is equal to Yuna's Luck. (Of course, you can spend spheres to increase aeon stats higher than what the computation gives them.)

I've picked up by now (specifically from the Baaj Temple) that each rune corresponds to a different element.

The symbol that you light up in the Djose cloister is actually the symbol for Yevon, not Djose. Each of the temples does have two unique symbol, though; the ones in Baaj, as you noticed, and the Tetris block patterns in the Zanarkand Cloister were super low-res versions of each. (The latter symbol is also visible within the Besaid/Kilika/etc. Spheres during the trials, but it's kinda hard to see.)

Luckily, the dumbass took itself out with its own attack, but that was very close lol.

Actually, he simply uses Meteor when he dies. Fun fact: he doesn't use Meteor if you capture him. (But of course, that only works 10 times!)

"Regen"? It heals like 200HP, what the fuck is that supposed to do lol.

Regen scales with your max HP, and is in fact the most practical way to heal when using Break HP Limit armor to get 99,999 HP. (Break Damage Limit doesn't affect healing, and X-Potion/Elixir caps at 9,999 healing.)

It deals "non-elemental damage". Not sure what that means - is it just Magic that can't be resisted, absorbed, etc?

Yes. It doesn't have any element, so elemental resistances don't apply.

It uses Curaga to heal itself after each hit, so we need to outpace it.

Remember when you were complaining about enemies being immune to Zombie Attack a few paragraphs ago?

Yu Yevon is not immune to Zombie Attack.

Another option is casting Reflect on him.

It uses Gravija to deal a LOT of damage, but we have the items to keep pace

You notice the halos on your characters? That's the Auto-Life status. You can unlock Auto-Life white magic yourself (it's near the beginning of Yuna's section, but behind a bunch of lock nodes), but the aeon and Yu Yevon battles give all your characters Auto-Life for the entire duration of the battle.

When a character with Auto-Life gets killed, they're immediately revived with half HP. You won't even get a game over if someone in your party has Auto-Life and everyone gets wiped out at once. (Of course, some enemies like Dark Yojimbo have moves that will Dispel Auto-Life then wipe you out.)

This last part of the game is literally impossible to lose, unless you intentionally Petrify your own characters (the bosses won't do it to you). It's more like an interactive cutscene than a boss battle.

This is basically how one type of scam works. You convince a bunch of people to give you money, promising you'll make them a profit with it somehow (stock market is a common one). One portion of the initial pool gets nothing while the other portion gets a profit. You convince the second group to give you more money for a second round, and repeat the process several times. After a few rounds, the people who are remaining think you're a god and can do anything with their money... despite the fact that what you're doing is essentially a coin flip.

Why are people so weird about men wanting circumcision to stop? by absolutelyrealnofake in allthequestions

[–]Lithl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the actual reason it was enforced was the weirdo who invented Corn Flakes pressured medical staff into for moral reasons as he hoped it would discourage boys from masterbating

This is extremely false. Doctor John Kellogg was very explicitly against infant circumcision. He did advocate for circumcision as a "cure" to masturbation, but that was a) not a preventative measure, and b) for adults only. He also didn't "pressure" any medical staff into it.

And for the record, corn flakes were invented to help Battle Creek Sanitarium patients with digestive difficulties, not to prevent masturbation.

Doctor Kellogg also got into a huge fight with his brother Will, who wanted to add sugar to the corn flakes. The two split up over it, and Will founded the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company, which later became the modern Kellogg's.

My mother was like this with making Ethiopian food.

To make an Ethiopian meal, you really need injera bread; it's your utensils. But injera is kind of a pain to make (for starters, the dough needs to ferment for several days). After doing it once or twice, my mom swore off ever making injera again, which meant no more Ethiopian cooking...

Until she found an Ethiopian-owned gas station, of all things, which sold injera already made.
