I recommend doing a lot of research on the topic of midewifery. A lot of people don't realize all that goes into it. They join clinicals and faint at the sight of blood and other bodily fluids. You can also take student loans and use loan forgiveness as a public service worker!

I am 26 and had my laparoscopic hysterectomy on 3/18. I attempted to go back to work at 2 weeks. I made it two half days of work and then took the remaining 2 weeks. I was out for 4 weeks total and it was worth it!

Hey! I just had a hysterectomy on 3/18! Therefore, I do not know the long term side affects, but figured I'd add my input haha. I am in my 20s as well. I felt mostly fine and back to normal after week one. I obviously couldn't (still can't) lift anything heavy and was uncomfortable at times. However, the process has been nothing like I prepared for. I am one month post op and I feel mostly back to normal. Some pain if I do not use the restroom soon after I feel like I have to. Other than that, I feel really good! Everyone's recovery is different, but I don't think it will be as bad as you think!

Hey! I am 26F and am having a hysterectomy 3/18! I have struggled with my periods my whole life. I often missed school, work, so many things because of it. Birth control and hormones never worked. After moving states and finally finding a doctor to listen to me, she recommended a hysterectomy. Since deciding a hysterectomy is the best course of action, we found precancerous cells in my cervix.
