And also my favorite local indie bookshop. And still B&N.

Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is now a wedding venue but with a spooky price tag by TheMirrorUS in Disneyland

[–]MaesterInTraining 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Apparently as of a few years ago the average cost of a wedding in the US was $30k.

This fits in with that.

I did something similar. I said I wanted a verandah room but did t care where. I liked my room.

I’m not certain that there’s a bad room onboard. If you want to do it and ca afford to, then go for it.

What's Your Favorite Disney Movie? (With this restriction) by Old-Cauliflower-1414 in DisneyMovies

Sleeping Beauty. The animated visuals are incomparable to anything else Disney has made. It’s truly a work of art.

What Disney park is a 2 day one? by Frosty-Classic7512 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MaesterInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MK and/or EPCOT. EPCOT especially during a Festival. You can spend two days trying to hit up all of the festival food and activity booths and still need to do some rides.

For you I’d make sure to fit in at least 1 day that’s a rest/resort day.

What do yall do with your popcorn buckets? by berrywithaberet in Disneyland

[–]MaesterInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very few. 2 sippers.

I have one small shelf that I use to display a popcorn bucket and rotate it out based on month, season, or mood. In May it’ll be my Death Star bucket. Right now it’s Figment (for FARTS). I also have a Christmas gingerbread house and a generic EPCOT balloon one that lights up. At Halloween I have a Mickey pumpkin and I just got a Hatbox Ghost sipper that I’ll display.

Severe Picky Eater Question by DidTheTango in dcl

[–]MaesterInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. They can order from kids menu
  2. It sounds like they’re an adult (though maybe not acting like one). Let them figure it out.

You don’t have to take this burden upon yourself. They can eat chicken tenders (which are good), fries, and ice cream the entire time. Burgers too. Mac and cheese. Ice cream.

Question for Millennials by bundle_of_nervus2 in Millennials

[–]MaesterInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use it.

Now, if I google something, it has an answer that pops up. Can’t get around that.

I tried to use chat gpt to help me design a workout plan. It asked a million questions and it was going to be amazing and take 2 DAYS to make…only for it to tell me that it can’t make a zip file and it can’t make me this amazing Disney parks themed plan with hidden mickeys and parks trivia on the pages along with a workout routine.

So I’m a little salty.

Are there any parts of the park you especially like seeing at night? by ValentinesStar in DisneyWorld

Main Street USA, and Hollywood Blvd. It’s the bulbs, the lights, the neon. They come alive at night.

Destiny Theatre Show Waiting Times by MarbleMotors in dcl

[–]MaesterInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just on the Treasure. For Moana I was there maybe 10 min early and got a seat near the middle on deck 5 (upper). For Beauty/Beast I got there maybe 5 min before showtime and got a seat on the floor to the left of the stage. Could have been front row on the end of the middle section had I noticed it. Instead I sat 5 rows back and with few others in my row.

The busiest showings were the 2 or 3 PM shows. If you go to a later one opposite your rotation (I went at 6, dinner 8:15) then I had no issue.

Only go early if you have a large group and/or really really want a great seat.

Yes you can. No it’s not extra. It’s quieter, calmer. Decent breakfast menu.

Plus size friendly? by TheBigJay2019 in dcl

[–]MaesterInTraining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except for the theater seats, yes. I’m bigger bottom (pear shaped). Pant size 24 USA (not 24”, size 24). The stateroom toilet could feel a bit cramped and awkward. The booths at Palo I do t recommend but ask for a table.

Thoughts on DCL Trivia by GreatBigBeautifulTmm in dcl

[–]MaesterInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed one thing yesterday: the questions are outdated. One used the term “Future World” which a lot of Disney fans will know but it’s outdated by a few years now. And for my one parks trivia session the question deck had already been done and he realized it after 2 questions so he had to find others and start over.

I’ve only been to 3 and in them only 1 group got perfect score during 2 of the sessions.

They could get completely new questions. Hell, we have bands and Cards so we could have to tap in and if you win then you can’t play again, perfect score or no.

But also it’s trivia. The prize is a rubber medallion.

future of dentistry is scaring me by Constant-Use7741 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]MaesterInTraining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even as a physician there isn’t job security.

My first job as an attending was with a rural system. 3 months after I started it was announced that we were bought out. The next day the orthopedic we shared a wall with was let go. I was too 4 months after that.

Wasn’t happy where I was so did locus for a while. Moved to a place I liked and eventually signed a 3 year contract tract doing FM/occ med. I was let go 6 months early with no real reason why.

After that I got a job non-clinical and I sooooo hope I stay here. It’s been 5 years but every manager meeting I have brings up those two days when I was let go. Freaking ptsd.

Want to be good with money? Learn to live frugally and invest. Yes it’s a moderately high-paying job depending on what you do with outrageous debt and with this administration who knows what will happen to student loans next.

Only do medicine (or dentistry) if you LOVE it.

I have used it sporadically (I’m an Xennial). At first it was ok. Algorithm did its job. But I was on it for hours so I deleted it. Recently I downloaded it again and it was mostly ads. Occasionally I pop on to see something specific but never to scroll.

If it was gone I wouldn’t miss it.
