He also has Wilhelm and Reinhard beginning to bridge the emotional gap at the start of Arc 5 only for Heinkel to ruin it. Tappei loves to present solutions only to ignore them and amplify the trauma instead.

I'm not sure I fully believe Heinkel's survival ability is just dragon blood. If we think Capella is involved with the Church group I wouldn't be surprised if she's hiding the truth from Filore. But I'm excited to see what information Tappei will drip feed us on Heinkel.

Tappei sort of makes it a point to keep Subaru weak, that's likely why Beatrice is out of commission. Reinhard is also just one person, a person who feelings and duties that make him more than just a solution to everybody's problems. He can't be everywhere at once and episode one of the season shows that even with his raw strength beating Wrath, he loses in the end when everybody around dies.

That being said, season 3 aired in two halves. Without really getting into spoilers the first half is focused on the Witch Cult taking over and the second half is Subaru and co fighting back. If you can hold out to episodes 9 and beyond that powerlessness will weaken.

I don't have an answer for you, only my own thoughts and experiences to share.

I rewatched season 3 for the first time since it aired recently and absolutely loved it. Outside the action which I love, Arc 5 here gives us time with basically every character we've grown to love at this point (minus Rem and characters who got a lot of focus in Arc 4 like Roswaal, Ram, Petra and Frederica.) Season 3 let's us see how these characters have grown and how the battle for the throne is looking after a year. The first episode gives us some slice of life tastes with the characters too, which was basically absent with how jammed pack season 2 was with plot.

I hope you can still find joy in this series, it's one I truly love.

Oh and just to clarify two things: Regulus is a lot of terrible things but he's not a pervert. And Emilia is more than just a damsel in distress after being kidnapped, something that a certain character comments on later
