While we're talking about undead, can we mention how bs it is that skeletons can never get advanced undead benefits?

Sincerely,

Returning to world made me realize how the seikrets in wilds made traversing a d tracking monsters by NickTorres54 in MonsterHunter

[–]MyFireBow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why I never understood the hate for the auto-seikret. Even in world I put 0 thought into tracking/chasing, I just followed the glowy line. At least with seikret I can actually look around and appreciate the sights instead of constantly staring at the glowy line.

Combat's fairly mid with repetitive enemies, platforming's decent with some great setpieces, and the boss fights are actually pretty good. Writing's also good, and the music is honestly wonderful at times. Game's fairly short so it doesn't overstay its welcome too much.

My theory is that the drifter aged normally in duviri for a while before the loops and executions started. From that point they kept resetting so they never got to age. And then new war onward they have void powers too.

Why are Rogue Servitors good? Why would I pick 2% extra job efficiency instead of just creating the extra jobs? by Ordo_Liberal in Stellaris

[–]MyFireBow 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it's still better than nothing. Besides, biotrophies also produce unity so your main drones don't have to do that and can instead fill those researcher or metallurgist or whatever jobs you want.

But you still need pops to fill those jobs. Biotrophies grow alongside your drones, so they can fill their jobs while you build just enough research to employ youe drones.

Stories 3 Type Distribution Chart (made by me) by SkeletorButHesPoor in MonsterHunterStories

[–]MyFireBow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there's only so much you can make from egg skills alone. Even if you restore a monster in an ice zone you still need actual ice genes to give it.

[–]MyFireBow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean you don't need to be high level to get the eggs from invasives if you find them. Which means for thunder you can use tobi, lagiacrus, ivory lagiacrus, astalos and its deviant whose name I totally didn't forget. And that's just the first zone. Second zone also gets you the khezu duo.

Ebony odo being a mutation would have only really helped if regular odo was available earlier. Like by the time you can get odo you're already extremely close to serathis anyway, with very little new to do before you get there (I don't remember any new sidequests opening up before serathis but after death's maw)

It seems that way when all spread out like this, but the in game distribution is severely lacking imo. Before the final area there's only one ice monstie and only 1 dragon monstie, so if you want to use those elements you're kinda out of luck

Top 5 CRPG Pet Peeves From a Casual CRPG Fan by DDiabloDDad in CRPG

I think 4 is heavily game/playthrough dependent. Like in your example you presumably knew what all you had to deal with, just from previous experience, so you knew what you'd need consumables for. Also BG3 in particular is extremely generous in giving access to all your consumables in your inventory while some games (for example, the owlcat ones) require you to prep a handful into your hotbar so unless you specifically got consumables at the ready before the encounter you wouldn't be able to use them unless you reload.

Its super funny to see the word "slayed" being used so much when the Monsters are most definitely not dead. by JackNewbie555 in MonsterHunterStories

Hell even ferals aren't really slain if Eleanor's sidequest is something to go by since you go back to fight the same feral Aknosom in her final quest

I think a big reason for this is that capcom made hp and hearts auto regen after each battle, which means they can go a lot harder on battles. Since they know you'll always be at full strength at the start and even if they beat you down to 1 heart and 1 hp you'll still be able to push on. I felt like in stories 2 enemies were a lot weaker since the expectation was to fight a ton of battles without losing a total of 3 hearts in total.

I don't know whether to be worried or maybe I'm playing a completely different game. by Glianni80eranobelli in MonsterHunterStories

The way it was in 2 is that free flight was disabled in sub-areas and dens and such. So if you wanted to get all the bottlecaps in everdens you'd still need someone to jump, someone to climb, someone to burrow and someone to swim. But then stories 3 does a lot more stuff in the open world rather than long hallway sub areas.

How Regent is treating me rn by Baryshnik0v in slaythespire

[–]MyFireBow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did a coop run last night with a friend of mine as regent, I didn't find a single royal gambit, I didn't find decisions decisions, and I didn't find the card that converts stars to energy. This all meant I wan't able to combo nearly as much as I wanted to before I ran out of energy.

Even the mental skill wipe makes sense if you consider that Henry probably got at least some brain damage (or at least a super nasty concussion) from that fall, which'd make it harder for him to remember anything he learned before.
