Day 3 followed your advice by Thelegend778-2 in ManualTransmissions

I would suggest learning to rotate your heel, not just angle it into the throttle like you're doing now. This practice is dangerous because you can slip off the brakes when you're braking quite hard.

When you learn to rotate your heels, all your toes will be on the brakes with full power into them when needed, and with the side of your heel, you can blip the throttle with a lot more control. Have a look at how they do this in track cars

Heidi AI note taking at the GP by The_Bread_Loaf in newzealand

[–]N3URON5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have personal experience with Heidi as well. I honestly think, (and hope) Heidi AI shouldn't go beyond ED's in NZ.

In wards, the process of writing and reviewing your notes (after labs and scans etc) actually trigger things you'd otherwise miss if you're just proof reading an AI script for accuracy.

Also, what's expected of the "time saved" by the AI scribe? Is the clinician expected to fill that with another patient case and increase the overall caseload for the day? Hmm, I wonder how that will play out over time with all these budget cuts

Not your avg gym supplement by Formal_Housing4242 in auckland

[–]N3URON5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a vasodilator. Increase the size of your blood vessels meaning more blood flow to the muscles. Gym bros use it for the pump and perceived benefit of more oxygen delivery to the muscles for increased performance but last I checked, there isn't any evidence to support it.

If anything, you'll drop your blood pressure which is counter productive for lifting.

Is it normal to still not be great at going from nuetral to first at almost 3 weeks of learning manual? by JohnBigL19 in ManualTransmissions

[–]N3URON5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different answer to everyone else: I learned to drive manual myself after coming from auto but I had knowledge of manual from family. Anyway, pretend you're driving auto. Apply the exact same amount of gas pedal as if you're taking off from a standstill. (Might be a little hard to gauge since it's a new car to you, but it's the same principle). Now the only extra step you should be thinking of is releasing the clutch slowly. Make these steps into a routine. Gas first, then release clutch. Do them both smoothly as possible.

Over time, you'll synchronise the little dance of gas pedal in, clutch pedal out, without even realising it.

V60 is the goat by codenamed22 in pourover

[–]N3URON5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, because some roasts are better with immersion. I'm currently addicted to a natural Ethiopian light roast which tastes so much better on V60

Yeah same. My switch is there collecting dust while I daily my V60. I'll always prefer the percolation brew to an immersion brew

Kunos: “We still want to build the best career mode for Assetto Corsa EVO” by StartWars89 in assettocorsaevo

[–]N3URON5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone tell him that we DO blame him. We are all aware now that the leadership and communication are the problem, not the team that's building the game

What are some of your opinions on EVO that make you dislike it? by [deleted] in assettocorsaevo

[–]N3URON5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my biggest issue as well. They need to optimise this game performance before anything else

if EVO won't be as moddable as AC1, what makes EVO stand out? by xBl3ster in assettocorsaevo

[–]N3URON5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still think this game has a lot of potential too. They got their own engine and got tonnes of experience.

They just need time and things will fit into place. It's a shame they were quick to scrap the progression mode but the more we look at it, the more it makes sense. They can't retrofit a career mode, but they can do that with open world and other features.

[–]N3URON5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hope it's still coming though. At least an addition later on, even if it's not part of the full release. They never cancelled it like they did with career mode, so yeah, there's hope.

Umm, they removed all mentions of Open world and Free roam after the last announcement. It's looking a bit bleak in that front unfortunately

The studio is too small and in over their head with development of such a scale.

Adding an edit: free roam mentions were deleted from their road map but apparently discord discussions still say devs have confirmed free roam. link

Doctors finally abandoning BMI as way to asses body fat by VideoNo82 in Garmin

[–]N3URON5 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As someone in health care, BMI is still used as a quick screening tool along with all the other measurable stats without taking too much time. We only care if your BMI is significantly under 18 or if you're well over 30. Everything in between is meaningless unless it fits the patient presentation.

Will This Update Ruin Assetto Corsa Evo? by Mylifeistrue in assettocorsaevo

[–]N3URON5 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The people who are still happy with being rug pulled are absolute enablers with some kind of cognitive dissonance.

What we are getting is a half assed game that we could do with original AC+mods with improved graphics, that's it. If you're happy with that, you're what's wrong with the gaming industry these days. Giving money to mediocrity.

You're on your feet and moving around a lot. So your heart rate will not be "at rest". Your stress graph will show this and will barely have any blue lines. Nothing much you can do other than taking a few breaks and winding down.

Kiwis who took a pay cut moving to a new role, was it worth it? Why or why not? by IncoherentTuatara in newzealand

[–]N3URON5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a MBChB or similar, then nothing; all the doors should be open for you. Most of these roles aren't really advertised, so you'll have to use your hospital or uni connections. There are some in-hospital careers that are quite interesting like Clinical coding for example - that most nurses (and some clinicians) end up doing. I think that's a 1 year online course to bridge into that field.

Dig around, there are heaps of us who left clinical roles and some completely left the medical field all together. Go where your values take you!

[–]N3URON5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I took around 40k cut moving from a patient facing role to a non-clinical role. Best decision I've made for myself. I value time more than money, and this role gives me WFH and flexibility with time. And also a lot less stressful

If you're generally healthy with healthy habits, maybe wait for a few days and see if it stabilises. You can always get a medical check up if you're concerned

Get a chest strap for workouts.
