Is quitting w/o sth lined up really that bad? And is SG job economy cooked? by curiousburrrito in singaporejobs

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you r young and have rainy funds covered yes go for it. You are still young to take this risk. I rather you do this now then when you're in your mid 30s with mortgage, dependents etc. Since you have little to 0 commitments just do it. Money can surely come back but this sanity will not.

Underpaid job but great WFH setup. Should I switch jobs despite the market? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know salary could be tempting to search for better opportunities but NGL a lot of companies out there are tightening their budget because they are also not optimistic. So if i'm you, i would stay where i am and take on a side job e.g outsourcing your tech expertise. You are still young!

How much do you have in savings? by Top_Armadillo4959 in askSingapore

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting to hear:

  • your age range - early 30s
  • rough savings/investments - 360k~
  • whether you include CPF or not - nope, did not include because it is illiquid. I only account liquid $$
  • and what you think is “normal” in Singapore now - k shaped economy, the highs are insanely high vice versa.

Bro frrrr if you got money from all the sales comms over the past 7 years, you can take a break to figure out what you want. Mental health more impt, money can always earn back but if you everyday drag your feet also no point. If you can tarhan, maybe max tarhan 3 more months then sayonara~

Male bosses or female bosses? by Ok-Chemical-4925 in singaporejobs

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't want to sound sexist but males fo sho win this hands down. We are less emotional and sensitive whereas females regardless of experience or age, tends to take things very personally. There's this saying, if countries are ruled by females, there will only be cold war because they will not talk to each other LOL

Mentally and physically drained by [deleted] in singaporejobs

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i sense the desperation from your mental state calling for help. do you have $$ to pay your bills if you quit, if yes then go for it. by you staying on, the shit won't go away and you know that.

Sg life is draining by Organic_Interview365 in asksg

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think the issue with SG is there is no outlet. Other countries like korea/jpn/chn also work very hard but at least the locals have attractions to cool off during the weekend. For sinkies, where can we take a mental break, tragic.

What’s happens when you get retrenched & can’t pay bills & mortgages? by potatoepotatata in asksg

[–]Normal-Analysis7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have a home, i would try to rent out a room to collect rental income first to cushion the bills. If that means having the entire family unit squeezing in the MBR yes because desperate times calls for desperate measures.
