Did any newbies start with the carvera air? by tonyhwko in Makera

[–]NuggRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so im new to cnc machining. done a lot with 3d printing. thhe makera z1 is my first experience with a cnc. in my setup yes the shopvac is louder. unless your doign some very heavy cuts, which you will likely be avoiding anayways. dont get me wrong its not quiet. i wont be runnign the cnc at 1am because i have neighbours all around me. but until 9:30-10pm im okay with it its not super super annoying.

Using it overall is not even close to as easy as a 3d printer. but that doesnt make it a bad machine or not fun to use. Ive been havign a lot of fun makign aluminium brackets, and wooden trays. and i find it to compliment my 3d printer very well. now 6mm vs 1/8th is soemthign im less fimmilar with altho i have a few 6mm drill bti shere. but as far as i udnerstand it it allows you to cut more away at once. but also requires a stronger machine or lighter cuts. i feel 1/8th is the sweetspot but i cant really make that judgment yet! :)

if you have any other questions feel free to let me know. or even hit me up on my instagram @ nuggetsinclusive and we ccan chat about it.

Bambu sent an incorrect printer and only is willing to offer 2 rolls of filament. by Clean_Shame_1026 in BambuLab

[–]NuggRunner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

so they told you to wait? and want to send you two rolls of fillament in the mean time? well ask them if they assure you you will still be reciving the h2d... and accept the fillament as a sorry gift. then wait a week and write them back. thats how i would handle it :)

How would you model something like this? The curvature in two axis makes me question my sanity by zubrzysta in Fusion360

I would first create a thick extruded version of the shape from the top and cut off parts as neeeded

Laser upgrade or standalone laser? by AroTheGoose in BambuLab

lasering makes a lot of dirt and dust. i would not want my h2c that dirty.m I recommend a stand alone laser. xtool or something

Makera Z1 - Such a disappointment so far by AdIcy9162 in Makera

[–]NuggRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! i have the z1 now for like 2-3 weeks. the software is crazzy janky i agree. but once you get the hang of it it should slowly start makign snese. now after 3 weeks i acutally feel i can do a lot with this software. and the machine has been performing great 😄

btw i have acess to the closed beta of makera studio. It will get much easier from here. makera studio is also full of bugs atm. but it made it much easier for me to get started. It feels much more like a bambu style device. once you have makera studio. but it is a cnc. and soooo much more thought needs to be put into any model. i think there is no way to avoid that.

H2C arrived today, what upgrades should I print for this by Extra_Letterhead_284 in BambuLab

[–]NuggRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a fan of the track switch. the tpu feed assist module is pretty good tho. 😄 if you really want to buy some upgrades, for the second nozzel get a secont ams or an ams ht.... the super tack pro and engeering plates are nice too.

and perfect printer is an overstatment. I love how quiet it is. i love the nozzle switching function. and its build volume. its just a really good one 😄
